Diani Sea Resort - All Inclusive

First impressions of the hotel were good, was bright, clean, well maintained. I've stayed at their sister hotel Diani Sea Lodge previously. Staff were all friendly, lots of apprentices learning hospitality. Pool was lovely and the bed comfy. Lots of sun beds and nice dappled shade. Was disappointed with the food, it was the same variations each day with slight tweaks. I started dreading dinner. Would normally miss breakfast, have lunch by the pool and then dinner in the restaurant. The theme nights were better. I can thoroughly recommend Asha Boutique restaurant a few doors up along the beach to your right (will do separate review) Incident with the room and a few safety issues. I woke up to step into water by my bed and my electrical extension lead sitting in it. I could've been electrocuted. The housekeeping staff hadn't checked or emptied the water bottle that the condensate pipe was put into. They sent head housekeeper and then a restaurant manager to deal with who just kept saying sorry. Management didn't take seriously and TUI ignored my complaint Hairdryer in room didn't work, staff brought hairdryer with euro socket and then proceeded to try and force it into the Kenya/UK socket by pushing something into the plug. I wasn't happy as a safety issue and told him so (3 hairdryers later) and reported to management. I reported a number of times the sockets not working or light by the bed not working but not fixed. Often didn't have towels or face cloths. Yes its Africa, but attention to detail needs to be improved. The staff were all lovely and I'll miss my planters wonder. Location was good. Oh and had a number of massages from Priscilla (the punisher as I nicknamed her). Would I stay again.....no, which is disappointing as it takes a lot for me to find fault and complain as I always look on the good side.

This was my first experience to witness discrimination as a Kenyan by fellow black Kenyans. The interns were MUCH better and did all within their way to make our experience hospitable. From reception day 1,An old man struggling to keep pace with demands to the restaurant service that was sub-optimal.

I had my solo vacation in the beginning of the year and literally has the best time ever! The rooms are so clean and modern! The bed is really comfortable and all amenities are clean. The food and beverage sections is my favourite, there's so much variety to choose from especially because it's all inclusive. The staff are really polite and helpful. The manager Richard really made my stay memorable, from the moment I arrived, he went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this resort !

We've been back from our vacation in Diani for almost a week now, yet we can't stop thinking about how much we enjoyed our time with you. We've never met such friendly people and such an amazing staff before. Our son Vojta made a great friend in the animator Jakob, with whom he played volleyball, snooker, and more. Vojta still remembers him fondly and misses him a lot. So, we want to sincerely thank you all for the most wonderful vacation, which was made even more special thanks to you, the incredible people we met. We truly wish we could visit you again sometime. We spent a week at Diani Sea Resort after a tour of Uganda. It is a beautiful place and we highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you to all the staff for the wonderful time and everything we experienced here, from the great and prompt communication during the booking process to the organisation of a romantic sunset dinner on the beach for our 30th wedding anniversary including a bouquet of roses. Everything was perfect - many thanks.

Good points: beautiful location, wonderful well-kept garden; cleanliness throughout the hotel; very nice security guards and gardeners - always helping if needed; lots of sunbeds - you can find something at any time; swimming pool in full sun - basically you can't use it from noon because the sun is very hot; total lack of mosquitoes on the hotel premises; beautiful clean beach and no pushy souvenir sellers; peace and quiet on the hotel premises in the evening; good laundry service; in the minibar fanta, cola, water, beer; good free internet throughout the hotel; Bad points: neither the hotel nor the travel agency inform that the facility is not adapted for disabled people, and is even inadvisable for them (numerous stairs, entrances, threshold, uneven terrain); unfriendly service (especially the older receptionist and several people in the restaurant); no tips = brazen ignoring of the guest; when dinner started, there were no dishes because they were just cooking; modest choice and little variety; very modest furnishings in bahari rooms;
