A visit to Anantara, Maldives is a once in a lifetime experience. From the time you’re greeted at the airport, to the transfer, to the welcome, and settling you down, the Anantara staff excels at paying attention to details. A special shout out to Hasnaa who made our stay pleasurable and guided us every step of the way to Chef Subodh who went out of his way to make sure our breakfasts were special, every member of the Anantara family were there to deliver an experience to remember. We would strongly recommend Anantara to anyone considering going to the Maldives!

Paradise on earth! A truly fantastic place, hotel and staff. Definitely go for sunset side rather than sunrise, sunrise side will have a jetty which is opposite the staff island so boats docking in and out all day. Sunset a little better although you will see an island which is pretty close that has high rise hotels. In the far distance a new island is being made by the government, they are starting to do what Dubai have done, man made islands. It’s still one of the most beautiful places in the world to be. On arrival for checking in you will be greeted by your personal valet/rep, be very careful before accepting their service, example: he sold us the drinks package for 4800 dollars (4 people) but 4 days into our holiday got chatting to a guest at the pool bar who only paid 3168 dollars, (hotel was offering it for a lower price but he did not pass it on) I spoke to the hotel manager who then had to back date this offer down to 3168, he told me that they work on commission. After that I booked everything myself, got 10% discount on massages and 10% off jet skis. Certain restaurants you only get 60 dollars each towards a meal which is a shame considering some dishes at sea salt cost 160 dollars. These restaurants were empty, no wonder why the buffet was so busy and truly excellent, no complaints at all. If you like snorkelling this island is not for you, doesn’t have a great deal of fish, really no different to the fish you see in Greece. What you need to do is search for the island of Kuramathi on google earth/maps and stay around these islands if you can find a hotel within your budget, they truly have the best sea life, it’s like watching Nemo the movie, tropical fish everywhere, with reef sharks and stingrays as soon as you step into the sea. We’re going back to this region in future. The corals are all dead here, such a shame. With regard to food and drinks, all extremely high end. The beach villa bungalows are excellent and are cleaned twice a day with fresh beach towels, brilliant service, even around the pool are clean towels everywhere. Bathroom was truly fantastically clean with extremely hot water with a fantastic power shower with high end soaps, slippers, flip flops and Egyptian cotton towels. Massive beds and truly comfortable. Overall great stay but thought best to tell the truth.

Where do i start from the moment we were picked up from another island we felt special.The captain Faariz had spotted a big pod of dolphins so going in the opposite direction he went out of his way to follow them.When we arrived we were greeted by drums and staff on the jetty. Our personal host for the week was Saajid who whisked us off on a buggy for a tour of the island then checked us in once we were in our room.Nothing was too much trouble and he organised all our dinners for us.We stayed in a beach villa on the sunset side which was beautiful and the bathroom just wow.Ibbe our room cleaner was brilliant and always kept it spotless.The fushi cafe restuarant was brilliant for breakfast a good variety of food and a shout out to Priyantha, Maif,Raj ,Sobah,Gillu,Sajer and especially Tippu. The Aqua bar is definetly worth a visit for lunch or dinner italian was lovely.Disni and Muzach really look after you.The fire salt ice restuarant is definetly one to go to and try and get a table by the sea. food is unbelievable big shout out to Muzaah who really looked after us on our anniversary. A visit to the cocktail bar is a must Don the mixologist is a legend and if we had more time we would of definetly done a cheese and wine tasting with him as his knowledge is exceptional.The thai restuarant the food unbelievable and try and get a table by the rocks as the resident turtle likes to come out and say hello.Yok,Maath and Tippu are wonderful. A special mention has to be given to the marine biologists Ory and Elias.The knowledge and passion they have for the conservation of the sea and wildlife is contagious.Elias took my husband snorkelling over at picnic island (which is worth a visit as Ehis and sancho will look after you)at the tiki bar.Ory and Elias even came to find us to say goodbye on our day of departure. Watersports are great we tried seabobs which were brilliant fun and Ahmed and Anees were always on hand to help. We went over to the adults only island vili and had some lunch and also got to look at a villa on the private island opposite which the wonderful Joker sorted for us.The island is gorgeous and definetly worth thinking about if you want complete privacy. Pankaj food and bevarage manager of all 3 islands was a joy to talk to and he should be very proud of the good staff he has got. A special mention to the people that work so hard and were always ready for a chat Seda,Zahid,Monette,Usmann,Dhaish and Xavier.Simah that my husband spoke to every morning in reception was so lovely. I would reccomend this island for the variety of restuarants and the staff.You can see other islands in the distance in some places so if your after a remote location this might not be the place for you but if like me you feel more content knowing that other places are close by then it doesnt take away from the beautiful scenery. My big tip for going would be to try and find out what events they have on in the evenings as we were too late to book some as in a bo

The experience in general was the very best. The islands and facilities are amazing. We stayed in an overwater villa with private pool. It was truly magical. Kadir really made our stay a special one, taking into consideration it was our anniversary. Everything was incredible and felt like a dream
