El Moore Lodge

What a gem! Beautifully restored, comfortably appointed, and featuring the most amazing attention to detail… the El Moore is a must stay if you are in the area. Located in Midtown, and close to Wayne State, the DIA and Corktown, the Starlight Cabin was well designed and very comfortable. Loved that the design of the headboard matched the design on the charming punch metal sign outside the cabin. The continental breakfast was very good and we were delighted to find that they feature baked goods from our favorite bakery - Crust in Fenton. Quality coffee and tea are available all day. The parlor looked like it could be in a magazine and was so warm and inviting. The grounds and building were gorgeous and well decorated. We were pleased to find out the beautiful courtyard on the corner and the little bougie market (our favorite kind) were all connected to the El Moore. Every item in the market had been carefully curated and featured a wonderful selection of the very best wine, beer, charcuterie, grab-and-go, and more. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The El Moore ranks as one of our favorite stays anywhere.

Very nice place to stay pretty close to all the attractions downtown! Great service and very comfortable rooms. We tried it out from a family recommendation and we will definitely be back on our next trip to Detroit. Uber ride to ford field only took about 15 minutes because of traffic there and back

This was our second visit to the Lodge this year. This place is exceptional- great rooms, beautiful building and grounds. The staff could not have been more helpful and kind, they made us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooftop cabins are unique and very stylish. The views of the city are striking. And our room on the main level this time, overlooking the gardens, could not have been more charming. The El Moore is now our home away from home whenever we visit the Motor City.

I hesitate to write this review, for fear of shining a spotlight on a hidden gem and never being able to get a reservation again, but here goes. Wow. El Moore is the lodging you wish you could will into existence - like it was conjured from a dream. The location is ideal. The grounds are exquisite. The room (we stayed in the Benedict) is the perfect blend of function and style. From welcome to departure, the entire experience was absolutely fabulous.

This was our second stay at the El Moore in the Holly room. The hotel is clean, well furnished, comfortable, and staff is friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is quite good with a nice assortment of yogurts, granola, pastries, fruit, and more. The on-site parking is a great plus and the location can't be beat. We walked to excellent restaurants like Selden Standard, Shewolf, Vecino, and La Feria. The very fun Detroit-centric gift shop, City Bird, is also a short walk away. The El Moore is our hotel of choice when we visit Detroit. We'll be back soon!

En visite rapide à Detroit, ma fille et moi avons séjourné une nuit dans ce merveilleux endroit. Nous étions dans la chambre Holly et tout y était parfait et rempli de petites attentions. Des lits à la salle de bain en passant par le ravissant coin petit déjeuner, rien à dire, tout à apprécier. Les hôtes sont très accueillants, aimables et attentionnés. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux et cuisiné localement. Mention spéciale aux cerises et aux confitures. Ne pas oublier le jardin et la maison d'oiseaux et plus plus plus. J'ai oublié de demander le nom de notre hôte mais il se reconnaitra car il parle un français impeccable. Merci encore pour ce trop court séjour. Si je retourne à Detroit, je reviens au El Moore sans hésiter.
