Club del Sole Desenzano Lake Village

We travelled to Desenzano in May for our 45th wedding anniversary and while it is a very nice peaceful location and the hotel Olivetto is also a very nice place that's where our praise would stop. Firstly the hotel staff were very nice but either they were not well trained in the knowledge they should have of their area...for example we were not told that there was a bus service every 30 minutes 300 metres from the hotel that would take you into the centre ...passing by a shopping centre on the way...however when we enquired about both we were directed towards the taxi service...which was € 10 into town centre and €50 round trip to a shopping centre while both on the bus would have been €01...yes one euro...we only found this out on the eighth day..also we went to the local tourist information office to enquire about going to Venice and were told Venice is not our area...please!!! Venice is one of the most visited cities in the world and an Italian tourist office says "It's not our area". The man...he was Moldovan...that transferred us to and from the hotel imparted more Information in the two trips than we got from the hotel and tourist information. Having said all that .. It is a beautiful place with not a lot to do ..except one is good at booking online...also if you have any difficulty with your mobility then make sure you are in or close to the centre. Stayed a 10 minute walk from the town which has bars, cafes, restaurants and regular shops. Lovely area. Felt really safe day or night. Was busy when we went due to giro de Italia but that just added to the atmosphere. Definitely recommend. Great Lake views and lots of historical sites

A beautiful resort full of lovely restaurants. Ferry trips are available to the other towns and villages around Lake Garda. The ferry company could be a little bit more helpful with regard to signage and trips. The language was also a barrier here. We stayed at the Hotel Estee. Very helpful and friendly staff; nothing was a problem. We had a lovely lake view room with a balcony. Breakfast was amazing, with wonderful choices. We would stay again.

The appartment we rented is on Airbnb, VRBO. Appartamentiallavilla, operated by Giuditta and Matteo. Very Clean, Secure, gated Parking and only 3 minute walk to center of Town across the Lake. Ferry service to all major towns in Lake Garda. Many Great Restaurants and Bars, gelato shops, great shopping for All. Giuditta and Matteo are Amazing Hosts, there are 2 BBQ with garden chairs and Gazebo to Relax . A great Spot for Couples and Families and Singles. Being going there for Many years

We had a good stay at this property, but didn't feel like it was a great value. We had minor issues in our room (the AC would stop working some nights and the sink was wobbly). We felt a little nickeled and dimed that there was a kitchen but no sponge and dish soap. Online it said there was a free shuttle into town, but it was 8 euros round trip. The view from the property was lovely and the breakfast was wonderful. We had good interactions with the staff and everyone was kind. Our room had plenty of space and we slept well.
