Hawthorn Extended Stay by Wyndham Columbia / Ft. Jackson

If you are up by 5 am and don't mind music playing all night, then stay here. Because I feel bad leaving such a terrible review on such a clean and nice hotel with a great breakfast. But I cannot ignore the fact that we drove we over 22 hours and needed a good sleep and got terrible sleep. You can hear every single door slam all night long and especially in the morning as well as the lobby loud music and TV playing all night long. I didn't realize when I booked that this was set up like outside hotels, but inside, which is worse because the noise bounces. If you really need your sleep because your driving so much, do not stay here. I'm so happy we only spent 77 instead of 150 or 200 somewhere else, at least that made the experience a little more pleasant knowing we didn't waist a ton of money. But at the end of the day, we didnt sleep. And that is what your paying them money for. This is a very very clean and super nice hotel. I thought I was gonna love it. But I did not. The microwave light shined so bright in my face as well as the red light on the TV too. The positives are alot tho. Nice comfy soft beds. Huge tv. Nice clean spacious rooms, good lay out. Beautiful and clean interior and exterior of hotel. Great breakfast with tons of choices. Staff were friendly. Fast easy check in. You choose! I'm sorry to the owner. I would have refrained with this hotel type lay out, and def cut off your loud lobby music at night. There is no way I'm the only one with these issues. I literally listened to doors slam from 11-1 am and 5-730 am.... constant. Tossed and woke up with every door. I don't do loud noises or bright lights when I sleep. Some people can. If u can then please stay here and be happy. This review if for ppl like me who desperately need sleep to be able to drive another 15 hours the next morning.

At check-in, at night, I could just tell the man wasn’t paying attention to my reservation and that I was paying by points. He said I had to leave a deposit, but I already did on the pre- check in email form. I told him that as I get alerts when my card is charged. I showed him and he showed me his computer. Then he said it charged me 2 - $100.00 deposits. I said well that would be 3 deposits for ONE room. It was 9pm I knew I could fight it out with my credit card company. When I was given my room key and License the man handed me another woman’s license. I said, that isn’t me are you sure you didn’t make an error and charge me her room deposits? He assured me NO! Well let’s just say he was very, very wrong!! I finally got a hold of the front desk when I got back from the trip after 3 nights of attempting in a row for hours to call! Buyer beware! The hotel was a normal, average stay other than credit card charges and the front desk not answering calls or functioning well.

Do not be fooled by management photos misrepresenting the quality of their venue or the glowing reviews in the last 90 days contributed to their first TripAdvisor review. The parking lot in the photos has not looked like that for years. I drove up and thought it was a mistake - this can’t be the hotel. Beware...This place is an absolute dump! My room was very basic and barely rated 1 star. The HVAC was blowing out disgusting moist air non-stop (something is really wrong with their system) causing black mold on ceiling and walls. The room was very dated and the condition of the shower terrible. They painted over the tile with white paint to cover up black mold. The peeling paint in the shower was disgusting. We booked two nights and barely made it through one, checked out early the next morning, and would never recommend this hotel to anybody. Wyndham should be ashamed of themselves for putting their name on a hotel in such poor shape. This has to be one of the poorest hotels I have ever reviewed and I travel all over the country with my job.

Hi! After leaving a hotel in Atlanta where NOTHING was complimentary, it felt good to come to a clean hotel, with free Wi-fi, free breakfast, free pool and outdoor games & comfortable beds Thank you Wyndham/Hawthorn Extended Stay!!!!!!!!

Clean room, friendly staff. We had a slight issue with our room. Spoke to staff, very willing to fix it and five us another room. We were very tired and declined the room but I was satisfied with the way they handled our situation. I will stay there again.

The staff at this hotel were very helpful. I needed an accessible room for my 91 year old grandmother and they made it happen. The rooms are very nice and clean. The gym is the best I’ve seen in a hotel. It has free weights, a peloton, kettle bells, mats, foam rollers and more. Great breakfast with lots of options including healthy ones.
