Boutique Hotel de Smulpot

Every once in a while you stay at a hotel that is so incredibly nice that you hesitate to write an honest review of it, for fear that it will be "discovered." The Smulpot is such a place, but I'm going to risk "discovery" to provide this review. The Smulpot is a tremendous value. We were welcomed by "Nancy," one os the owners. She did everything she could to meet all of our needs, always with a smile and great enthusiasm. Our room, which looked out on the street, was large by Dutch standards and furnished with everything we needed. Wifi connected quickly and worked well throughout our stay. The hotel is located right in the heart of Den Burg, with lots of restaurant and shopping options nearby. The hotel also operates its own restaurant, which was clearly popular with the locals and served great food. The complimentary breakfast was superb, with guests having an individual table loaded with food specially set up for just for them. The hotel is also a quick five-minute walk from the island transit bus, which provides service to the ferry to the mainland. Our room was on the third floor. The hotel has no elevator, but hotel staff offered to carry our luggage to and from the room. The hotel is located across the street from an historic church. The church bells chime on the hour and half hour throughout the night, but we quickly go used to that. This hotel was one of four we stayed at during our Dutch vacation. It was both the best in terms of quality and the cheapest in terms of price, thus a great value. We would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed here for 4 nights while hiking around the island. We had a very nice stay in at cozy clean room on the second floor. It was very warm outside so it would have been nice with aircondition, but we still enjoyed our stay. The hotelrooms are located above the restaurant which means that there can be som noise from downstairs or the street outside and from the church bells. The hotel is very clean with great interior design and the bed was great. The breakfast is lavish, and because it is served at your table and ready when you come down to eat, there might be some food waste, but it is al tasty and good. Also the breakfast is at 09.00, and that is a bit later than we are use to. We would like to emphasize how nice and accommodating the female owner is - we felt so welcomed by her.

I stayed here with a group of 8 friends on a cycling tour of The Netherlands. This was the favourite hotel of everyone. From the moment we arrived until the time of our departure we really felt like guests in someone's home. Nancy and her team did a fantastic job of making us feel welcome. The hotel was spotless, the service excellent, and the breakfast exceptional. I can high recommend.

Highly recommend stating here. Great location in the middle of Den Burg with a cozy downstairs restaurant. The owners are very friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Compleet plaatje, keurige kamers, heerlijk en uitgebreid ontbijt en smaakvolle barhap. Zeer vriendelijk en kundig personeel! Zeer prettige ambiance. Absolute aanrader! Hier komen we graag nog een keer terug

Mooie ruime kamers, boven de bistro. Stil en comfortabel. Het ontbijt is in de bistro, voordat de zaak open gaat voor publiek, en is echt fantastisch.

Super hotel op top locatie in het centrum van Den Burg. Auto parkeer je op de Emmalaan (tegenover vvv) en dan is het een klein stukje lopen naar het hotel. Ze hebben 7 kamers (geen lift). Er liep iemand mee naar onze kamer en daar lag een persoonlijk welkomstkaartje en kleinigheidje. Wij sliepen met 3 volwassenen op 1 kamer en evengoed was hij erg ruim. De kamer heeft een grote badkamer (zonder deur) en apart toilet. Ook hadden we een balkon met zitje. Het ontbijt was echt grandioos (zelfs voor mensen met een lactose allergie, wel even van te voren doorgeven dan houden ze er rekening mee) Voor lunch en diner hebben ze een prima restaurant. En s'Avonds kun je lekker op het verwarmde terras zitten. Al het personeel is super vriendelijk. We gaan dit hotel zeker aanbevelen aan vrienden van ons of zelf nog een keertje boeken als we weer naar Texel toe gaan.

Schitterend hotel in nauw straatje in het centrum. Als het om de hoek gelegen hitel Lindeboom parkeerruimte heeft, dan kunnen daar de fietsen gestald worden. Nu weten we dat dit in de zomerperiode waarschijnlijk niet mogelijk is. Te veel toeristen en teveel fietsen. Vriendelijk ontvangen door het personeel. Het was zeer druk binnen omdat het slecht weer was. Toch bleef men vriendelijk. Grote kamers met een grote inloop doucheruimte. Mooi groot koffieapparaat en waterkoker. Heerlijke bedden. 's avonds zalig gegeten. Ruime keus op de menukaart. Ontbijt zeer uitgebreid. De aanblik van de tafel met het ontbijt was geweldig. Uiteraard smaakte alles geweldig. Prachtig hotel, Texelse prijs.

Leuk restaurant in het centrum van den burg. Heb heerlijk gegeten en aardig personeel. Dit restaurant is ook een aanrader als je alleen uit eten gaat. De entrecote was heerlijk en werd geserveerd met een bakje patat en een bakje salade. Een aanrader.
