Old Posting House

Popped in today for a Sunday lunch... The lamb was excellent ,as was the turkey.Staff we're brilliant and the Wainwright's beer was a great pint. Will be back to sample the weekday menu soon .... It had been a while since I had visited this Pub ...But I think another visit is on the cards sooner than later. Keep up the good work .🍻👍

The bedroom was clean and comfortable. Considering near to Lake District views poor. Proprietors friendly but seemed stressed. Parking OK. Breakfast very disappointing. "Full English " well cooked but not anything special. One Weetabix, and little or no choice with yogurts, fruit salad, etc, little marmalade and poor toast. Very sad as Dinner had been very good the previous evening.

Really helpful team - we needed to collect keys early to attend a wedding and the team not only accomodated this but letbus check in to change Clean, tidy room with everything you need for a short stay. Utterly idyllic views brilliant location

We loved our stay here; the hosts were lovely and friendly and the food in the pub downstairs was delicious! Would absolutely recommend if you're in the area!

there is nothing not to like about this perfect inn,rooms are cosy clean ,shower was great,food eccelent,plenty parking good selection off draught beersStaff and hosts very friendly,local chap at the bar gave me some travel advise for the next day

Stayed here for 2 nights over the Jubilee weekend. There was a lot that we liked - the location was very handy for visiting the western lakes, the pub was easy to find with lots of parking and it was very quiet at night. Had breakfast and dinner each day and the food was excellent. Room was clean, modern and the bed was comfortable. There were a couple of issues though. A sloping ceiling meant you could only really use half the room and there was a low beam in a position where you easily could hit your head, especially if getting out of bed (we're not particularly tall!). We mentioned this and asked if we could swap rooms. The staff seemed surprised and said they'd not had any complaints before. They also said they were full and anyway all the rooms were the same. We rearranged the furniture and pushed the bed further over to the other side of the room which helped and we survived our stay without banging our heads. There was also a ridiculous mirror in the bathroom with a very bright light around it...actually so bright you couldn't look at it! It came on automatically with the overhead lights and there was no switch to turn it off. We used the mirror in the bedroom instead, but it was a bit inconvenient.
