Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Dayton Downtown

The hotel was centrally located to all the attractions we wanted to visit. Although the parking was not right on the property it was in a covered parking lot within a short walk to the hotel and the cost was included in our stay ! The front lobby looked rather new and was clean and shiny. Front desk staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Hotel room was very clean and accommodating for 2 of us and came with the amenities you would generally expect. We had a king bed and it was comfortable, although the pillows were rather soft and despite both of us having 2 pillows each we could have used 1 or 2 more to be more comfortable. The included breakfast buffet was well done with a good variety of choices for us as we eat a carnivore diet. The coffee was a good as you would get at Starbucks. I don't know her name but the staff member who kept the buffet full was definitely one of the hardest working individuals I have seen. She was friendly, accommodating and exceptional and the hotel should award her appropriately. The only negative to our stay was that on the 2nd day of being there we returned later in the day after sightseeing and our room had not been serviced by housekeeping. I called the front desk and the staff person who had checked us in informed me that they had forgotten to tell us that housekeeping is only every other day. Staff member did provide us with additional towels however it would have been nice to have the bed turned down and used towels taken away.

We love this location for walking along the river and getting to everything in Dayton. The free breakfast is better than most and the staff are so kind and helpful. We love the free parking but struggled with the new app. Fortunately, the staff were great and helped us figure it out!

This location did not live up to service I've had at many other Fairfield Inn locations. We were there for 5 days/4 nights, and the room was never serviced. Trash cans were very full. Each day when we left, I thought that would be the day. When we returned in the evening, I was too tired to report the issue. The breakfast was also not up to the usual quality level. One morning I had to tell the attendant the oatmeal pot was still cold and had not been cooking for the couple of hours since she started it. She had clearly not checked it after setting it up. On the bright side, the location was very convenient for evening walks, trips to the library, dining at many restaurants, concerts in the adjacent park, etc.

Clean, comfortable room with great location easily walkable to river. Only downside was noisy from traffic. Good breakfast

Nice except bedding Hotel was very nice and clean except the sheets had cereal in them so obviously not changed, bedspread also had food on it
