Mike's Dauin Dive Resort

Thoroughly enjoyed my week at Mike's. The managers, James and Kate, gave my dive buddy and me a warm welcome and assigned a dive master that was knowledgeable about the area and very personable. Dauin is known for its macro diving and it did not disappoint. The rooms at Mike's were spacious and clean. I hope to return to Mike's for another stay.

My group and I had the honour to spend around 2 weeks at Mike's Dauin Beach Resort. There was nothing to blame about or to be criticised. 😎🤗👍 The resort is wonderful location, not overloaded. With direct access to Beach and Sea. For people who don't like salt water... there's also a nice pool! 😉 Rooms are well equipped, clean and properly maintained. Beautiful, friendly management and staff, good food, good service, brilliant diving. We recommend this place with 5* and 100%. For sure we will return! Thx to all for the brilliant time we could spend there! 🙏❤️

My partner and I had our greatest holiday yet at Mike’s. A real adventure. We booked to stay and do our open water scuba accreditation. Our instructor for this, Gabi, was so excellent that we also booked our advanced course as well. The diving was excellent. We explored the Dauin Marine Sanctuary and Apo Island. The reefs were stunning. A great place to learn to dive. Gabi also suggested a night dive where we spotted insane marine life included some sleeping turtles. Apo Island is a must see for any diver no matter experience level and the team at Mike’s makes everything effortless. All of the employees at Mikes were very personable and welcoming. We truly felt at home. Apart from diving, the team at mikes were able to suggest and assist with other activities. We rented scooters for two days where we explored Dumaguete, Valencia, Pulangbato Falls, and the Red Rock Hot Springs. It was incredible! The room was immaculate. We had a view of the ocean and felt very relaxed. The food is delicious and made fresh. We will definitely be coming back!

We spent another 10 days at Mike’s Dauin dive resort, a place we cherished the last time we were here seven years before. We were lucky to be here during the transition from veteran managers Corri and Jonathan to the new ones Kate and James. Kate and James bring a lot of experience managing other resorts in Indonesia. All of them have a way to make you feel like a part of a big family right from the arrival up to the last minute spent on the premises. Joy and Jonalyn from the management office are always happy to assist with any needs you have. The chefs at the kitchen with Ronald, Jula, Alma, Nenita and William make an effort for all the meals to be perfect. The menu is a mix of western, Mexican and local recipes; you will always find something tasty to consume. Also look out for the daily specials. Leah, Jessa, Mary Joy and Nathan are the bar staff who are always smiling and are going the extra mile to set you up with the most sophisticated drinks you can dream of. The maintenance of the grounds is outstanding, the attention to detail in designing the garden will make you feel like living in a mini botanical garden! Mark, Ignacio and Jeffrey from the maintenance team are always on top of things. Marilyn, Tata and Jennifer will keep your room clean and always stocked with all what’s needed. And there is Peter! Peter is the security guard keeping us safe every night and handing us the first coffee of the day whe we come back from our morning walk. An amazing guy, always smiling, always positive! At the dive shop I present to you the dive guides. This time we dove with Raul and Ace, last time we also dove with Gabi! There were times we could not keep up shooting the amount of beings they were pointing out! All of them will find anything in the muck you can think of. Sometimes you see what it is just when you download the pictures to a bigger screen. We had a lot of fun and safety is top of the list during the diving trips. The trip to Apo island was fun enjoyable and as always a treat with the abundance of marine life. Victor the skipper an Jonel the speed boat guru as well as the boat crew and “life handrail holders” Edgar, Brian and Jerry will take good care of the guests, no matter if on the boat or at the dive shop! All in one everything works seamlessly to make one of your most enjoyable dive experiences ever! I hope I did not let anyone out of my review! Thank you all! The fact that I wanted to mention all people from the resort attests to the quality of service you get there. You feel like you become part of a bigger family, a family of people who know that the best place to stay in Dauin is Mike’s Dive Resort!

We stayed at Mike’s in February 2025 and had tons of fun. The rooms were really nice and clean. The water pressure in the shower was good, the beds were comfy, and the room was spacious. They also provided sustainable, locally-made, biodegradable shampoo and soap which was a lovely bonus. The hotel restaurant serves great food and the staff are all so lovely. There are also a ton of walkable restaurants that serve craft beer, poke bowls, sandwiches, etc. if you want to venture outside of the resort. We did a total of 8 dives over 3 days, and diving with the team at Mike’s was just an absolute pleasure. Our dive master was very knowledgeable and showed us all kinds of sea creatures—large to minuscule. We’re definitely staying at Mike’s again if we’re ever back in Dauin! Would give them more stars if we could!

This place is nothing short of amazing. We loved that it was a small scale resort and you really felt like part of the family here. Everything is wonderful - the staff, the dive gear, the dive staff, the diving, the resort set-up, the pool… I could go on. The dive staff are fantastic and the boat is spacious to don and doff your gear. And oh my lord - the food and cocktails! Yum! They were also able to book a local nanny for us (which is something I have struggled to find in the Philippines!) and this then means you can dive a lot more. Do yourself a favour and stay here if you are coming to Dauin.
