The hotel is located in an excellent location in the heart of the Sydney CBD. The rooms are spacious and clean however a bit dated. Although the room was pre-paid my card was charged for a second time. I pointed this out to the front desk staff and it was quickly resolved although I wonder how often that happens. The entire hotel is in need of a refurb so not sure the rooms are worth the price however it served my purposes and was not a bad experience.

The hotel is an apartment-style hotel, very close to the train station, and next to a park. The location is very good, and the supermarket is not far away. When I first read the reviews, there were no comments from Chinese people, only from foreigners. Most of them were negative reviews, saying that the hygiene was very poor. I was very worried, but the order could not be returned, so I brought disposable sheets. I booked a suite with a balcony. But when I arrived, I found it was completely beyond my expectation! The balcony view is very good, you can also see the Sydney Tower! The pictures are all real shots. The room is also clean and hygienic. There is no need to bring your own sheets. Although the facilities are a bit old, it does not affect the use. The room is quite spacious, with one bedroom and one living room. In Sydney, a city with high hotel prices, especially during the Spring Festival holiday, this apartment is extremely cost-effective! Moreover, although the swimming pool on the top floor is a bit small, the view is superb at night! It should be noted that the name of the hotel where you check in and get the keys is not the one you booked. It is in the same building as the hotel. Maybe my requirements are not high, but overall, I am satisfied and I will choose it again if I have the chance! Be sure to choose the room type with a balcony!

The stay at Kimpton Margot hotel was amazing! It was a great location-in the middle of two train stations, walking distance from the shopping malls, and it is near a grocery. The service was also excellent. They were helpful and very friendly. Would love to stay there when we go back to Sydney.

Stayed in a heritage room for the third time over the last 15 years and the rooms are showing there age. Also maintance is lacking. 8 inch crack in basin, a builder has written 20/07/20 behind glass in toilet , presumably before it was completed for the Olympics. Door hardware loose and crooked. General appearance just above shabby. No a/c in foyer during the two night stay, meaning enjoying a drink was a sweaty affair. Broken awning about breakfast restaurant. Looks shabby now.
No one I say appears to do any cleaning.
Disappointed for what is supposed to be five star and cost $492 per night. Can’t justify going again.

Excellent location and value for money. The staff were extremely helpful. We were able to check in early and access our room. The hotel also looked after our bags on the last day. The Harbour Bridge, The Rocks and the Opera house are all within walking distance. The room was comfortable and cleaned daily. Great value for easy access to the city!

Had a twin room with family. The hotel is quite disjointed with 2 lobbies. Very busy street to navigate in a vehicle and expensive valet. Multiple times we called the central service line to only have it ring out. When the phone was answered it took (in some cases) hours and repeated follow up to get 1 extra towel. Also we had to request larger doona's because the ones on the twin bed only just covers the top of the bed so as soon as you put two people in it, its not large enough t cover you.
Concierge on checkout was hopeless. He didn't bring a trolley to help with luggage, then my wife and son manhandled the remaining luggage. I had asked for our car to be brought up and after waiting for 15 mins we were told it would be another 30-40 and would we be happy to tbe escorted to the parking garage? That was actually the most convenient in the end. Overall would not stay again or recommend.

It would be great if the toilet can be larger.
The hotel is located in Surry Hills, which is quite convenient.
Service is fine. Its just that you have to check-in and check-out by yourself. Facilities? They have a restaurant and bar. Nothing nice to watch in the TV. Cleanness i ok. I can see it is renovated.

The hotel is easily accessible from the train station (as it is a slight downhill).
The staff, from being met with a wide smile by the concierge to the check-in staff, are friendly, professional and just a joy to interact with.
The rooms are well appointed, bathrooms absolutely spotless and the bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast is good, but very few Asian options available.
It should be noted that Google maps is not truthful about the fact this part of Sydney is ”mostly flat”... so walking shoes are a MUST as the hotel is so very close to a number of wonderful places to see, explore and enjoy a meal.

The location is excellent. If you don't want to go up and down the slope, the Central Interchange subway station is right in front of the hotel.
Although the building is old, it is the first international five-star hotel in Australia, but after renovation, it is still in line with the modern, simple and comfortable style.
There are many self-service machines for check-in and check-out at the front desk, which is very convenient.
Except for the pillow, it feels very old and smells when you lie down. Everything else is pretty standard, and there are two Virgin gyms in cooperation.
If the price is right, I will consider it next time
