It has now been renamed to Seven Gates hotel. Definitely not Sheraton standard. The Internet is not working in the rooms it seems because of the thick walls (sic!), very overpriced bar, empty pool - altogether very disappointing experience overall.

Located at the heart of old Damascus city, I can smell the history of Damascus staying this hotel. Walk around and see the old twon is very relaxation and enjoyable. Breakfast is wonderful with a lot of local foods.

l'hotel è notevole, immenso e curato. Però, la guerra lascia segni indelebili, e non potrebbe essere altrimenti. La manutenzione degli ambienti soffre della mancanza di visitatori, i bagni delle camere evidenziano lacune dovute alla mancanza di frequentazione. La colazione va migliorata, la scelta è scarsa. Buono, invece il personale di sala. Un po' lento il personale al front office. Complessivamente un hotel di tutto rispetto, considerata la difficile, difficilissima situazione sociale del Paese.
