Sheikh Ali Dahab Resort

We had a blissful 16 nights at Sheikh Ali hotel and we found it to be the perfect place to stay in Dahab. The location is excellent, only a few minutes‘ walk or a few minutes by taxi (which are just around the corner) from pretty much anywhere in Dahab. For divers, Blue Ocean diving school next door is a must. You will not find a better diving school or a nicer folks anywhere! At the hotel, the junior suite was very pretty and comfortable, with plenty of storage space and a huge bed with plenty of firm or soft pillows. The breakfast is delicious, with Egyptian or European options which can be combined if you wish. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner and everything we had was very nice, especially the falafel and the barbecued fish (order in advance). The team is absolutely lovely and goes above and beyond to make your stay excellent. Sherif in particular is amazing. He manages to be in ten places at the same time and will help you with anything you will ever need. He is the heart and soul of the hotel (at least from the guest perspective) and one of the main reasons we will surely come back. But everyone else is lovely as well, and the little touches make everything about this place very special.

This really is a great hotel. The rooms are large and attractively decorated, the kettle and fridge. The pool is spotlessly clean and the area around it has nice planting. I ate lunch a few times and the food was good. Eggs, omelet, fruit, etc for breakfast. Location was convenient for the town and sea front. Use the ally at the back of the pool area for a short cut. The massage available was one of the best I’ve had. The only down side was that wifi in the room wasn’t great but I used a local sim from the vodaphone shop so it didn’t matter.

Amazing service and room. The overall experience was just perfect. The location was very good and very calm. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. And the smell of the soap is remarkable. Loved our stay, and would recommend it for sure.

Me and my partner Rob are returning for a second year to this hotel and we will definitely be back next year. The staff is amazing, friendly and make us feel happy and at home. Perfect place to rest and enjoy the best food in Dahab after a dive. The hotel is a total recomendation 🙌

Where do I start? This hotel is absolutely wonderful. It is spotlessly clean, the food is delicious, the rooms are cleaned daily and if you are lucky your towels are made into flowers, hearts, snakes and elephants! Breakfast is divine, fresh fruit, eggs however you like them, pancakes and falafel with mouth watering cucumber and tomato and soft cheese. The staff are the friendliest, most helpful and genuinely caring I have ever had the privilege of staying with. They are all wonderful, yet a special mention for Shereef. He is the kindest, most thoughtful gentleman and attended to every single need we possibly had before we realised we needed it! He is unbelievably attentive but in the gentlest of fashions. Mohammed too was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he went above and beyond, as did Shereef. An unforgettable holiday, totally made by the outstanding staff. This is the third time we have visited Sheikh Ali and it gets better and better! The rooms are HUGE! We are a family of three and the sofa bed for my tall 15 year old is the biggest we have seen. The main bedroom has the biggest bed ever, at least super king size and so comfortable, These are not just hotel rooms, they are suites, with a dressing area in addition to the two separate sleeping areas. There are also family suites, giving even more space. The hotel is steps away from the main area, however is quiet and peaceful. The noticeable improvements, since our last trip, are the food and the Wi-Fi. The breakfast is outstanding with so many fresh choices, my favourite was the omelette followed by pancakes. We also ate lunch a few times and everything was tasty and fresh, all sourced from the hotels own organic farm - the only one in the area. A new addition is the bar area, a lovely area to relax and enjoy a drink in. The massage facilities are also amazing. The improvement in the Wi-Fi was welcomed, I had to work during the holiday and having great internet was key to me being able to do this. What really sets this hotel apart, is the service. Many of the staff have been here since the hotel opened, that speaks volumes. They are incredibly helpful, in fact the best I have ever encountered. A few examples, my son was unwell and they brought him a herbal remedy and then later breakfast to the room as he had missed it, we didn’t ask for this, it just happened! I asked for barber recommendations for my son & husband, before I knew it, appointments were booked and they were transported there - where else would you get that? Another guest was having to go out and the staff gave her an Egyptian SIM card so she could stay in touch with her driver, there are countless examples, way too many to mention. If you are looking for a 5* All Inclusive, then this is not for you, it offers personal service, great rooms and amazing hospitality. Dahab itself is charming, a wonderful relaxed seaside resort, renowned for diving and snorkelling. There are plenty of shops, restaurants etc. and the stereotype that you get hassled in Egypt, most definitely does not apply here, yes the local business’ will ask if you want to look in their shop/eat in their restaurant, a simple ‘no thanks’ and they smile and wish you well. I have been visiting Dahab for over 20 years and it just gets better and better. I have a travel business and have travelled extensively, I would thoroughly recommend Sheikh Ali if you want an authentic experience where you can walk out to local restaurants and experience the wonders of this part of Egypt. I have experienced Dahab in different ways, as a standalone sunshine break, a multi centre with Cairo & Luxor and also twinned with Sharm el Sheikh. This is a wonderful destination, whether as a solo, couple of travelling with family, I have been bringing my son here since he was 5 years old.
