I loved hippo campus and the very helpful staff there , even though I booked on the day the owner found me a room and then found me a room for the next four days as they we’re fully booked so I had to change rooms a couple of times which was cool , it’s in a fantastic spot right on the beach with good music and great food :) thanks for everything Edwin , Hayden

It’s on the beach, which is of course, great. Room is clean. Water is hot. Air is cold. Fan in room was broken. While the drinks are good there find another place to eat. Very disappointing. Dive resort personnel were rather rude and acted like you were bothering them when you asked a question. So needless to say I went somewhere else to dive. Overall the place isn’t bad, but next time I’ll definitely stay so where else. So many options.

We also stayed at the Hippocampus Beach Resort on the same grounds, so we had super short distances. I can recommend anyone who comes to Malapascua for diving to go diving at Devoean, if I come to Malapascua again there is no question where I stay and where I dive. For me a straight 10, thank you very much. I was delighted with the service and support provided by Devocean dive center. As a diving instructor, I've traveled a lot around the world and have experienced several diving centers. This is by far one of the best. From the welcome, the organization of the dives, the teams on the boats, the passion of the divemasters to show the diversity and beauty of the region, to the organization of the departure.

We ate our dinners here as this area is the most happening place in the entire island (which is very quiet). Hence you will find all the tourists here at night time. The food here is decent, the staff helpful, they have happy hours and there is a separate grill section. I would recommend this both for food and the environment.

Arrived to Hippocampus to spend one night and then move next morning. Everything was very nice and easy. Good price clean but minimalistic which was okay. Great fun at the bar live entertainment that was loud until about 11 Pm. Door lock was jammed and we kept having to get help to open or lock door. Got it sorted maybe a bit inconvenient but we managed.

Room is neat, big, well-lit and power outlets are everywhere. The balcony is spacious and resort has provision where to dry your wet clothes. Staffs are cheerful, accommodating and attentive to your needs. Has a diving center within the resort.

My overall experience wasn't good. For starters when I checked in my room reeked of cigarette smoke, someone definitely smoked there for a long time. I flagged this and they acknowledged it, they couldn't give me another room because they were fully booked, I got a free dinner instead and they also changed the sheets (upon request), the next day they cleaned the room and sprayed something to cover the smell, but it wasn't enough and when I raised this again I was told that there was no smell at all and it was the room's "scent"... really disappointed honestly. Also, they play music until 23 every night (live music over the weekends), so if you need to wake up early to go diving with sharks, this is not the place to go to.
