Casona de La Paca

We loved this beautiful small hotel that was lovingly restored by the owner, Montse. Every detail has been taken into consideration to make her guests welcome from the minute they walk through the door. Rachel and Montse are helpful with suggestions on what to see on this part of the Asturian coast as well as which restaurants to try. The rooms are spotless and the beds very comfortable with lovely linens. The breakfasts are superb and more than ample with everything regional and home made. The hotel welcomed us home after our delicious dinners with a roaring fire in the fireplace and candles lit, even on the stairs. Cason’s de La Paca is the perfect place to stay in Cudillero.

Second visit here , for 2 nights this time. Was here in 2018 for 1 night and was determined to come back. A most peaceful and restful place with lovely gardens just outside the stunning village of Cudillero. A lovely energy here due in the most part to the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Monti was our main person and she with all the other ladies made sure we had a wonderful time. The beds and pillows are in my opinion the most comfortable in Asturias- we slept really well with no noise. The breakfast was delicious; fresh eggs, fruits cheeses, cereals , serrano ham, croissants and delicious pastries, yoghurts etc. La Casona is the ideal place for day trips. El Pescador restaurant within 500 metres is a delight for lovers of good food. I will be back.

Very comfortable hotel in a traditional older villa-styled property on the outskirts of the hilly coastal resort of Cudillero. The bedrooms are well appointed and the downstairs dining and lounge areas are delightfully furnished. The hotel also has some nice gardens as well as parking facilities within its boundaries. The breakfast was outstanding with a good choice of food, including a great selection of patisseries, all served by really friendly staff. Probably the best breakfast on our tour of northern Spain!

Immaculately renovated country house situated in beautiful gardens. We only stayed for 1 night on our way to Santiago but would have been happy to stay for much longer. Our room was spacious & comfortable, with every modern convenience & doors that opened directly o to the lovely garden. The breakfast was unique to each guest as you could pick & choose dri ks & food which was brought to your table. The small town of Cudillero is about a 20 minute downhill walk away, however coming back is all uphill & if your not physically fit you'll struggle. However, there is a local restaurant within 5 minutes walk, where the helpings are enormous ! All in all, hard to beat with free parking & top breakfast.

The hotel was easy to find and we just put its name into the car Satnav. It is a grand looking house with lovely gardens and lounges, and there is ample and very good parking behind the hotel. Check in was very good and our room is in a very modern annex and is very nice, in a motel style sort of way. It is very comfortable, well equipped and has an excellent en-suite with fabulous shower. Breakfast was top class and, rather than help yourselves to a buffet, you order what you want and they bring it to you. We enjoyed juice, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, scrambled and fried eggs, a selection of charcuterie and cheeses and various types of toast. The service was excellent, as was the presentation; and when you add the sheer style and ambience of the house and its decor it would put many 5 star hotels to shame. As has been pointed out in previous reviews, the hotel isn’t actually in Cudillero and is up the hill in nearby El Pito. It is relatively easy to walk down to Cudillero however and we found that it took between 15 and 20 minutes. There are pavements all the way and traffic is light anyway. Coming back is a different matter and, quite simply, if you are the type of person who can’t go up the stairs without stopping for breath, don’t do it. I’m in my mid 70s and reasonably fit and found that at a steady pace I could do it in about 25 minutes. The clue is in the word “steady”. Take it that way and you won’t get any muscle burn or be out of breath. It’s not a horribly steep hill - it’s one that is a longish, steady walk. The bottom line is that if you are visiting Cudillero I can’t imagine you could find a better place to stay than at this top class hotel. It’s a beautiful house run by lovely people in a most professional manner and we found it perfect in every way. We will certainly use it again.

Charming and welcoming location and staff. Very gentile and polite; a classic inn with breakfast. Rooms a bit on the small side but clean and functional. Very convenient to the central plaza area of Cudillero
