McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge

We had a fabulous stay. The hotel is so beautiful both inside and out. You can spend hours looking at all the amazing and historical art throughout the building. The secret rooms are always fun to find and the food and drinks are always amazing.

This place is great! I was a little worried after reading a few of the other reviews, but I'm glad we went here, and we didn't find the same things as other people did. As any McMenamins, the hotel is decorated to the max, with tons of light fixtures, paintings, framed pictures, posters, etc. The whimsy is what gives these places their cool vibe, and why I love the atmosphere at all locations. The front desk staff was always kind, and the guy working the store in the lobby was especially friendly. We had a room on the 2nd floor facing the river. While I could occasionally hear things going on above/below, it was very quiet and did not wake us up. The beds were not the best, but not the worst either. I recommend bringing your own pillows as the ones they have are on the small side. The bathrooms were clean and the view was beautiful. The grounds themselves are super cool, with a nearby park, a sandy beach out front, and tons of restaurants to visit. The hotel also has 2 1/2 secret rooms that are super funky and fun. It's also easy to take a short walk to downtown Kalama over the train tracks to visit the antique stores. This place is cool and quiet, with a really chill vibe. We would definitely stay here again!

Not our first McMenamins stay but definitely one of our favorites! Loved the waterside view, so peaceful & beautiful. Loved bar hopping & enjoying all the unique & fun locations. Food is wonderful as always. We will be back!

Beautiful property. So much to walk and see. Rooms very nice and comfortable. Has 5 different food/bars on the property, so plenty to try and change up the mood.

This eclectic hotel has lots of charm with good service and good food at the restaurant. Rooms are very basic, mine had no fridge or microwave, but comfortable enough and clean! The balcony is a nice touch with a view of the Columbia River from most.

Visited the 4th floor Cloud Bar with a friend for lunch. Sat on the balcony on a cool day and the offered lap blankets were very appreciated. Had a marvelous meal and our waitstaff person was very good. Koryna made meal suggestions which were spot on and her checking on us to make sure everything was okay was perfect timing. The river view from the balcony was beautiful. Hope to return and stay in the hotel someday.
