Hotel la Grange - Animal Chic Hotel

I recently returned from a weekend away with friends staying in this super-friendly and pretty hotel which used to be the village’s granary. The hotel is full of history with photos of the family through generations and heirlooms hanging everywhere. But the rooms aren't old - super comfy beds, plenty of space for ski paraphernalia (plus there is a boot room downstairs along with a sauna and an underground garage, for a small extra cost) and balconies with beautiful views. We opted for a family room with second bedroom on the mezzanine - really spacious and with two bathrooms. The best thing by far were the family and their friends than run the hotel along with the guard pig at the front door, the gorgeous St Bernard who pretends to be a rug and the bunnies and chinchillas by reception, plus of course, the many chickens who provide the eggs for breakfast (fab and included). Everyone was so friendly and helpful and a special mention to the lovely Isabella who was just fantastic - a great raconteur behind the bar, even if we did pay for it with slight headaches the next day! The hotel's restaurant is in another building a minute's walk away and the food there was fantastic. Entrèves is a quiet and pretty village but it’s just a few minutes’ drive from Courmayeur and 5 mins on foot from the Val Veny ski lift where there is a ski hire shop with free storage lockers if you rent from them (there is another shop at the top of the lift too). I would definitely return to La Grange - a perfect spot with a choice of lovely restaurants but the après ski of Courmayeur close by if you want more noise. Super friendly staff who could not have been more helpful. Lovely cabin style hotel with communal area and bar to get together. Suites are available for families or groups of friends which is great, plus they have two bathrooms and everything is super clean and there's enough space to put ski gear like helmets and jackets. Plus there's a boot room for any equipment. Breakfast was included and for dinner there's a lovely restaurant attached to the hotel (just behind it) and a couple of others in the village but otherewise it's pretty quiet.

Ambiente silenzioso in frazione caratteristica, a due passi da impianti skyway. Personale gentilissimo e flessibile, ambiente familiare e molto originale per presenza di animali. Spero che rimangono progetti con animali che fanno di questo hotel qualcosa di unique. Camere confortevoli, colazioni abbondanti e variegate, mitici aperitivi. Consigliato, ci torneremo Amici Testaguzza Massi da Roma

Impossibile parcheggiare. Per un aperitivo, due birre dei fritti e due piatti di pasta e fagioli che a casa faccio meglio, abbiamo speso 40 euro a testa. Ambiente carino, ma costo assolutamente ingiustificato. Sincetamente mi sembra davvero esagerato. Lo sconsoglio e non ci tornerò.

Abbiamo fatto un aperitivo in questo hotel, incuriositi dalla presenza di animali liberi nella hall dell'albergo. La posizione è buona e il personale cortese, l'aperitivo tuttavia non è niente di eccezionale. Cibo di qualità modesta, con una presenza di mosche veramente eccessiva e fastidiosa, sia nella stanza del buffet che nelle stanze a fianco. In tutto questo da aggiungere anche il prezzo: per gli esterni è assolutamente fuori mercato. Si pagano 10€ a piattino per l'aperitivo, con il drink escluso. Abbiamo quindi pagato 25€ per uno spritz, un'acqua tonica e un piattino con alcune tartine, decisamente troppo per il servizio offerto! Aperitivo evitabile.

Si tratta di un hotel risalente agli anni 70, adagiato in una frazione di Courmayeur, con spettacolare vista sul monte bianco. È gestito con grande cura e attenzione da giovani, armati da tanta voglia di fare e cortesia. La scelta originale di trasformarlo in una sorta di fattoria lo rende quasi unico. All’interno della struttura si trovano liberi di circolare maialini ed no splendido pastore del bernese, abituati evidentemente a convivere con gli ospiti. Sempre all’interno, troviamo gabbie con coniglietti, cincillà, porcellini d’india, porcospini. Persino un pappagallino, con i quali è possibile in parte interagire, tramite l’intervento del personale. Sia nello spazio antistante che in un terreno vicino, si possono incontrare (sempre accompagnati) alpaca, capre, pecore, asini e una mucca. Sono quasi tutti animali recuperati da situazioni precarie o disagiate, amati come figli dai proprietari dell’hotel. Ho riscontrato grande attenzione verso il cliente, soprattutto considerando il rapporto qualità prezzo. Aperitivi, merende e colazioni super abbondanti e varie, tutto ottimo. Unica pecca, le mosche, che provenienti dai recinti interni dei conigli e non solo, imperversano su ogni cosa, cibo compreso. Consiglierei di rivedere questo aspetto, e magari dare una rinfrescata allo stile. Per il resto, complimenti.
