Templeview Lodge

Stayed early September in Templeview Lodge, and it was such a lovely spot to stay. Sheila was an excellent host and even ran us the mile to the village for night meal. Rooms were spacious, beds were wonderful, and breakfast was served with a smile. I would really recommend this place.

The view was incredible. Amazing location. Communication and check in were very easy. Very friendly staff. Warm and welcoming. Property was easy to find and access and was a great base to explore However nowhere in the description does it mention the bedrooms and living space aren't connected. So having to go outside in order to go the toilet or go to bed is very inconvenient, particularly in bad weather. Also the bedrooms aren't really separate, you have to walk through the double bed room to get to the bunkbeds. Bunkbeds are very cramped, particularly the top bunk which is very close to the ceiling.This also means the property really is not great in poor weather. Every time you open the door, a lot of water leaks in when it's raining which makes the wooden floor very slippy. End up having to mop up every time somebodys had to go next door to go the toilet. Same visa versa in the bedroom space. A lot of the workmanship in the property wasn't great. Loose fittings on cupboards and shelves and the toilet. Towels aren't provided. Nor tea towels. We did ask about towels and they provided them in the end but usually they don't. You can see a lovely log stove in the pictures but nothing is provided for you to actually use it. Property is clearly designed for 4 people because of the sleeping conditions, yet the sofa only two fits two people plus one random rocking chair. And the TV is very small. Plus the heating system was complicated and difficult to work. Lots of the kitchenware wasn't really fit for purpose I.e. no filters for the coffee machine, lots of the cutlery was broken, some of the pans and chopping boards were dirty. Also some food had been left by previous guests e..g coffee and tea but it was very old and had clearly not been checked. - Lighting in the living space is quite poor - one central light and one tiny side light which is next to useless.

Beautiful B&B we were in the Inish suite it was absolutely massive with a walk in shower and jacuzzi bath both were amazing so relaxing after our day sightseeing including a trip to malin head which is a must see in Donegal views amazing even on a very windy July. Breakfast was amazing and service outstanding this is out 3rd time in Donegal this year and previous visits were in hotel and this place is by far better. We will definitely be back and would recommend it to everyone even those with mobility issues Shelia and Michael so friendly and professional and the cleanliness is outstanding thank you so much.
