This 1940's farm cottage sits surrounded by open space. The area is in the Saugatucket River valley, in a little known hamlet called Mooresfield. This home is a rustic mini-working farm. There are many gardens and outdoor spaces here to enjoy peacefully after a long day of adventure. With a central South County location, the cottage is close to beaches, restaurants, shopping, rail, URI, and all points north and south. Newport is a scenic 20 minutes away. The house sits back and up from the road, and there is plenty of off street parking. The country road is sometimes busy, but that also means that it is an easy commute to anywhere you might go. A car would be needed to get around due to the rural nature of the property, but most destinations are only a 5 to 20 minute car ride away. Uber is a popular alternative to having a vehicle. 6 minutes to Rt 1 N&S. 5 minutes to the business district of Wakefield. You can stock up and never go shopping, or "run into town" for a last minute item. The top bunk is fine for children (and maybe small adults) but headroom is low. The bead board bathroom is modern and updated, and has a tub/shower combo. The wrap around front porch, back deck, and screened porch feature quality materials and detail. The large outdoor shower is refreshing after a day at the beach, brisk morning walk around the neighborhood loop, kayaking/paddleboarding, or other fun activities in Narragansett. The front and back yard are sod/grass with lovely flower gardens. Under the back porch is a small outdoor shaded sitting area and the classic L.L. Bean hammock for lounging. All beach carts, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, toys and wagon are easily accessible from the beach closet with the arched doorway under the porch stairs.
