This unique cottage is located steps away from the shore of 3 mile pond. Located on Sandy point the entire shoreline has a sandy bottom which is perfect for recreating on the water. Kayaks(provided for a fee)can easily be launched and it is a perfect place for young children to play in the water. If you have a dog please check that you are paying for them when you are booking. If you and your family enjoy relaxing by the fire next to the water watching the fish jumping the eagles soaring and wonderful sunsets this is the place for you. You can enjoy fishing from the dock or one of the boats for some of the ponds many fish. There is a public boat launch in the cove and we have a boat mooring at the camp. We allow more than four guests overnight for a fee of $40 per person per night up to six people total in the camp. We allow a maximum of two dogs with a fee of $25 per night per dog. We will charge a fee of $100 if pets are not paid for up front the regular pet fee. East pond his part of the Belgrade lakes chain and has a maximum depth of 27 feet it is 1,717 acres large and has 13.9 mi of shoreline for fishing and exploring. The view of the lighthouse on Ladies Delight Island. “Maine’s only freshwater, landlocked lighthouse plays sentinel to one of the state’s longest lakes, bordering five towns over nine miles. Designed by Boston marine architect Frank Morse, the 25-foot lighthouse was constructed to prevent vessels from going aground on a jagged reef in the middle of the lake. Initial construction proved hairy (not to mention comical) when the builders set out to transport two oxen to the island to help raise the structure. The crew could only haul one ox at a time due to the size of their barge. After they dropped one ox at the site and were on their way to fetch the other, the first ox apparently got lonesome and began swimming back to the mainland to find his friend. The second bedroom is cozy, with a queen-sized bed (w/ cotton linens) and plenty of extra blankets. There is a garment rack and dresser.The other basement-level bedroom is perfect for adults or kids. It has two twin beds, a large closet, and a dresser. All linens included. * Laundry Room:There is a small laundry room in the basement with a washing machine and dryer. Detergent provided.*Outdoors:Outside you can enjoy the large yard, expansive deck, private dock, and outdoor fire pit. We currently have 2 kayaks, 2 canoes, and 1 stand-up paddleboard for guests. Dexter Pond is a hidden gem with minimal boat traffic. The fishing is great and the water is calm (and warm!), making it ideal for kayaking and paddle boarding. Water levels of the pond vary, but it tends to be shallow with some vegetation only directly in front of the camp. Once out on the pond, the water is nice and clear for swimming. We recommend stand-up paddle boarding or relaxing on a float in the water!*Other Amenities:- Yoga Mats- Stand Up Paddleboard- Kayaks- Canoes- Fire pit - wood providedThe camp comfortably sleeps 6, however, it can accommodate up to 8 guests (with the pull-out sofa and futon).The camp would also make a great space for long-term renters - looking for some peace, but close to other area amenities. A desk can be added if needed. Our property is a must-stay in all seasons!OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:The cottage is not a party-rental. It's a perfect place to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy the outdoors. We ask that renters are respectful of this for us and our neighbors.The cottage is on a well-maintained dirt road. Guests are asked to drive slow. There is a small narrow bridge that you must cross to get to the home. It is completely safe and rest assured that large trucks cross it.Both indoor fireplaces are non-functional.Because the cottage is a split level, please be aware that it may not be suitable for families with babies.
