D'Angleterre, Copenhagen

All was good until I got a charge on minibar when I was on a plane home. When I got home ( my country ), I wrote an email to ask what charge was on my minibar and I gotten a prompt reply that it was DIPTYQUE LOTION which was part of minibar. But the thing is that I didn't use any of their lotion or consume anything from their minibar. I asked for picture and then no more reply from them. Paying the money is not an issue for me but to pay for something I didn't consume is not acceptable. So be careful when you check out next time, make sure all is clear before you leave the Hotel else you may end up like me.

Great hotel. Grand and historic hotel of Copenhagen. Fantastic service and staff. Great breakfast, great bar and great restaurant in the evening. Extremely comfortable rooms. One thing we found a little strange and imperfect - the spa is lovely and impressive with sauna, hammam and a huge pool but there were only two loungers for relaxing on next to the pool. Half the enjoyment of going to a 5 start hotel spa is relaxing on a lounger after a treatment or swim. Otherwise all perfect at this lovely hotel.

If you want to stay at the ultimate luxury hotel in Copenhagen, expecially over the Christmas holidays, the renowned D'Angleterre is the best! Elegant, exceptional service (front desk, concierge and room cleaning staff) and beautiful decor. And don't miss the breakfast buffet as it's fantastic. The only reason I didn't give D'Angleterre 5 stars is because of their oversight with products and a cheapness with "gifts". We stayed in a suite ($1500-$2000 a night) over Christmas and were given 1 cupcake size cake for the room. When I asked if we could have 2 given there were 2 of us - the maid said no - 1 per room! Compare this attitude to staying @marbellaclubh / Marbella Club in Marbella, Spain where you are given a generous assortment of treats over the holidays. We were also charged $80 for products, which was removed after we questioned this charge. We had asked for additional soap while staying there as 1 tiny soap was not sufficient for 2 people - and believe this was the reason for this charge given we did not remove any bottles of products. D'Angleterre's hotel policies need to be reviewed and improved in terms of the small touches that make the difference with the overall hotel experience. At these prices and caliber of hotel, no guest should ever be concerned about asking for more soaps/products or an extra Christmas cupcake!

[Stayed May 19-22] Beautiful hotel in the city center with phenomenal customer service. Yes, it’s pricey but this was part of my annual birthday trip where I do a little splurging. Great location and walking distance to restaurants, shops, canals, points of interests etc. We booked the “deluxe guest room” and asked for a room overlooking the main square and we got it. You could also see Nyhaven at a distance. Welcome treats were in our room upon arrival which was a pleasant surprise. The king size bed was absolutely comfy, the bathroom was large with good water pressure in the shower + amenities. The only negative about the room was the spotty WiFi- It was difficult when making a few FaceTime calls. Enjoyed a relaxing evening at the pool located at the Spa which also had a steam room and sauna. Maybe because it was late in the day but the pool area was a little messy with a lot of used towels lying around. Tried going into the steam room but left because it had a poor “#1” scent. The sauna and pool were fine though. Lovely products in the boutique and an area where you could test them. I did end up buying a nice serum. Overall, had a great time staying at D’Angleterre. Every staff we encountered were very professional, attentive and courteous. Extra shout out to our driver who picked us up from the airport, Jasper. He was a wealth of information and provided many tips as a local. The concierge who checked us in were also very lovely.

If it is not the best one in Copenhagen, I can hardly imagine another hotel which could be better. Ideally located in the heart of the old city, this very elegant palace offers an incomparable level of service and an extremely refined environment / atmosphere. Our stay couldn’t have been better !

This is an excellent hotel, one of the best in all of Europe. We were there for nearly two weeks, and also have stayed there many times in the past. The rooms are wonderfully planned, clean, have great views and are excellent for sleeping. The hotel is amazingly centrally located in Copenhagen; most places to visit and good restaurants are only a walk away. The concierge people are outstanding and the front desk people are also wonderful and very helpful. In fact, everybody who works there is very pleasant and helpful. We will write a separate review of the excellent restaurant, Marchal, which is in the hotel.
