Club Med Rio das Pedras

We stayed here for a week, and left on Sunday. The rooms were great, clean, tidy and any issues we had got sorted very quickly. The food in the main buffet area was great, the service was perfect and I don't think there was a single negative thing. We had Rafael as the waiter for a couple of nights (he was the best, just perfect and super nice guy) There was plenty to do, and we all kept pretty busy, I found the staff to be super friendly and pretty chilled. As someone who spent years working in bars, hotels and kitchens it's one of those places that if you are nice to people they will be nice back. Thanks to the sports guys (Gaby and Coutinho , plus the others) for the smiles and banter. There was only one negative moment, that was the booked restaurant, that was appalling, cold food, long wait, the wrong food, no service, broken glasses served (I would suggest that area to be avoided) But, in general it was a great holiday and I thank you for keeping us smiling for the week! ❤️

I had a wonderful time at the hotel. The food was amazing, the rooms were very clean, and there were so many activities to do throughout the day. What stood out the most was the positive energy and kindness of the staff! I especially want to highlight the great vibes from Are, Rym, Carlinhos, Luciana, Italo, DJ Pet, Thito, and Giovanna. I would definitely come back!!

In November 2024 made a booking for a holiday at this resort for October 2025. Five months after the booking was confirmed, I received an email from Club Med informing me that our booking was cancelled by Club Med because the resort was being 'exclusively privatised'. ClubMed suggested moving the booking by a week. I called the customer service line and explained that moving by a week would require 1. a special permission from school as the booking was for school holiday and 2. purchasing new flight tickets from London to Rio as our flights were not flexible. The person I spoke to didn't know what to do, but assured me they would consult their manager and follow up. Over the next month, I had the worst experience with the Club Med team: - Initially, they suggested they were looking into a possibility of covering the costs of the new flights (knowing we had booked business class on air miles), and asked me for full details on ticket price.. - Once I provided the information, a different person contacted me to say the options were: either moving by a week with 200 GBP compensation (nowhere close to covering the cost of a new flight from UK to Brazil) or moving to another resort in Brazil - apart from the other resort being a lower standard, it would involve 17 hrs drive from Rio airport. - The follow up was slow and inconsistent. - I asked if someone from Club Med team could please call me to discuss this situation. Instead of an opportunity to discuss this, I was provided an email address with a comment "Please note that as an ABTA member, they are committed to acknowledge emails within 14 days and provide a detailed response within 28 days of receipt". Needless to say, one week later, I have not heard back. I have been a client of ClubMed for 12 years, for a while a Gold member, currently Silver. I knew Club Med as a family holiday resort, not a conference or event venue, so this cancellation because a room originally confirmed for us was now being offered to whoever booked the resort exclusively came as a surprise. Sharing this experience as it may be a useful context for other parents booking school holidays at Club Med.
