Baymont by Wyndham Columbia Fort Jackson

Everything was good

We paid a little extra for a King Suite vs. just a "room". For that, we got more space, but not more furniture. Watching TV on my phone was better than watching from the bed or the single recliner. Could've used a couch or even a second TV. When we called right at check-in to ask for the bathroom faucet to be repaired, they didn't have a repair person available and didn't have another room to move us to. They _did_ have someone available at 12:30am to pound on our door, wake us up, and get us out of bed because their front desk clerk hadn't completed all their paperwork properly and had to check with her manager. Lots of little signs of neglect as well: Breakfast was substandard, cold eggs, graffiti in the elevator, phone message button broken, and so on.

Convenient location. No lock on either access door leaving property unsecured. People coming and going all night. Property shabby.

This hotel is filthy. It smells like mold and mildew throughout the hotel. A dead bug on the curtain in the room. Holes in the dresser, falling closet doors, hairdryer falling out of the wall. Entire floor smells like pot and cigarettes. Paid for a king bed they didn’t have any so we were given a queen. Rust in the bathroom around the floors. They insisted on an additional $50 in case of damages which is a joke as the whole room was damaged before we walked in.

We got one room to start and went in the room and, it had not been cleaned, beding on the bed in a pile. The second room we got has not been cleaned and take-out was on the bed. The thrid room has cockroaches in the bathroom and by the bed and in the microwave. The last room was finally kinda clean.

Stayed here one night while taking a class in the area. It was bare bones, no pictures in the walls, bed was an exposed plain metal frame but for the price point I didn’t expect more. What I also didn’t expect was the $50 security deposit upon check-in. I mentioned that it would be nice to know about that ahead of time. The clerk stated he had made fhe suggestion but the owner told him Wyndham would not allow that. I would say because the practice is’a is big condones by Wyndham.

Nothing unique the place should be closed down i was moved around to a total of 3 rooms checked out two days early. I would not recommend anyone to stay there. I was there to support my son at his military graduation and that was the best thing about being in SC

1. Many of the power outlets were not working in the room. 2. Towels were not replenished. 3. There was power outage for a long time. 4. Room A/C heater was not functioning and blowing cold air. 5. In the breakfast there was no coffee on day 1 and no bread on day 2 even at 7:00 AM. 6. The front desk lady was trying to help but the hotel management is doing cost cutting in everything possible.
