Iberostar Selection Es Trenc

Let me start by stating that I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location, service and food variety were a big plus. However there was one big drawback and some minor issues that make me question If I would return.. maybe at the right value only.. Positives: - the overall design is modern and elegant. - cleanliness is overall very good. - location is great if you have a car - near Es Trenc beach but further away from everything else. - great room views and excellent sunset location. - Sleeping wirh sound of the near waves was very nice indeed. - great gym. - great bath amenities (botanicus). - great AC in the common areas and bedroom. - very few bugs in the resort and nearby outside places. Negatives: - the main pool. For me this was a huge fail of the renovation. The way the pool is designed with separated areas and intertwined pathways make it very small and ridiculously narrow. It is impossible to swim!! If it was a plain rectangular shape would be so much better! ... The rooftop pool is ok for a sit-down expericence and nice views but also no swim whatsoever. There is a diret ocean dive spot by the rocks but only manageable in very calm ocean days. - room smell. There is a strange smell from the bathroom that lingers to the room. It seems a mix of sewer and some kind of a aromatizer. Only with balcony doors opened can it be diminished. - lack of privacy at the main pool area as there is an outsider adjacent path and window walls all around the pool area. In the end the way the pool area is designed is just awfull. An elevated area (maybe pool at the first floor) would have been perfect. Besides that the facilities in the first floor could have been perfect in the base floor; for instance there's a huge lobby area that seems a waste honestly. Overall some poor space design choices but overall the hotel is nicely furnished with tasteful decor. - the food. It was too inconsistent. Some dishes were really amazing like the seafood and fishes and others really not well prepared (dry roasted meats, dry overcooked roasts). The variety at breakfast and dinner buffet is enormous! But mostly repetitive. The fresh juices are off poor flavour, they need to rethink the way they combine or add water to them..none of them are good. The "A la plancha" station is too busy for just one staff member to manage and the food preparation is totally random. Most of the grills were overcooked and dry or not well seasoned. - The food description stamps at the restaurant were almost always incorrect or even not existent. They should totally replace the current system (line above the food) to a diret near the food paper description. - Lifts eletronic displays not working during the entire stay.

We enjoyed two nights of relaxation at the Es Trec! The location is perfect with a beautiful pool, amazing views and access to the sea right at the property.

Absolutely perfect. Wonderful experience. On Day 3 of 5 and YERI had made our stay so much better with professional and more importantly, friendly and happy service! Every day has been better than before. Every detail is thought of and taken into consideration and the staff is absolutely on point.
