I encourage you to read his responses to other reviews, including the unprofessional response to my review I will surely receive. Below is why I encourage you to book elsewhere. 2 months ago we booked a room, which was confirmed by the hotel via email. A week before our stay, we received another email from the hotel about our stay. After flying from the US, we arrived and were told they had overbooked and we could not stay there. Without any input from us or notifying us, the staff booked us a room at a local B&B. Unfortunately, the B&B we were moved to was very poor. We would not have booked the B&B ourselves, and there were no other hotels available in Kilkee for us. Feeling stuck and uncomfortable, we wrote a respectful but firm email to the owner, informing him how disappointed we were with him overbooking rooms. We informed him that we felt we needed to leave online reviews so that travelers can make informed decisions about where to stay. Here is the email response we received: “That's unfortunate, we have no control over the condition of other premises other than previous guests who have stayed there found no fault, indeed you are the first to express such bad experiences, doubly unfortunate that if you called us immediately we had a cancellation ourselves that would have suited you, its not about the money for us we like to accommodate people and a local wedding many of them friends and customers will always get precedence. Having said that I feel that we did look after you to the best of our ability, we were under no obligation to drive you to the alternative accommodation and Mary took her own time off and drove her own vehicle to help you guys. If you want to jeopardise our business with nasty online comments that's up to you but remember you have no idea what Myles'Creek accommodation is like so please no comments on that. You are still in town, I'm still working, call in and we can talk about it like mature people if you wish, otherwise off you go on your keyboard warrior outing and you'll be forever in our thoughts. The owner admits in writing that he will accommodate locals over travelers. So, if you are a traveler, you should strongly reconsider booking here. You may be left stranded and without a room at all, and Ger will feel no sympathy for you, as he later stated to me.
