However, there are only restaurants that mainly serve fish dishes around the hotel, no restaurants serving noodles or other dishes, and no supermarkets, so I felt it was inconvenient for shopping. The hotel sold instant noodles for 5 RMB, which was helpful. Breakfast was buffet style and the taste was average, but I was happy that they provided hot coffee. Across the road is a tunnel theme park called the Time Tunnel, and you can purchase tickets at a discount from the hotel. (98 RMB to 80 RMB)

Friends from other places came to Qiandao Lake for a business trip, and felt that it was inconvenient to live at home, so they arranged a hotel in front of the house. I chose Starway hotel because I wanted to be closer to Qiandaohu central area and I didn’t want to spend so much money on accommodation because I was planning to be outside most of the time. The location is great, the moment you step out of the hotel, you can see the lake. The wharf is about 3km away from the hotel. There’s loads of restaurants to choose from (make sure to eat fish head 鱼头 when you’re there). The service is great, the staff was very friendly and attentive, they’ll go out of their way to help you. The restaurant has Chinese breakfast, there aren’t a lot of options to choose from. I recommend this hotel if you’re planning to go to Qiandaohu and you’ll be outside most of the time.
