We stayed one night, hoping to have a relaxing night away to recharge after the Christmas holidays. We were very happy when we arrived as we had a beautiful view of the pond and the room seemed nice. There ended up being major issues with the room, none of which were taken seriously by the front desk agent or the hotel. We were not warned in advance of the construction. Thankfully it didn’t start until 10am so we were already awake but it was extremely loud and right above our heads. The construction was clearly in the unit directly above us so dust started coming through the vent in the bathroom which made the bathroom filthy and not usable as dust would drop down on us if we went in there. Why would they put someone in the room directly below the construction? Our bathroom sink did not drain and nearly overflowed. I had to spit in the filthy dust-covered toilet to brush my teeth and could not rinse my toothbrush. The front desk agent’s response was “sorry about that”. I expected more from a Coast hotel, particularly when we did not have a usable bathroom. That is not a minor inconvenience. We had planned on having a leisurely morning but instead checked out as soon as we possibly could. I tried contacting the hotel directly about it and there was no response. We had planned on returning but will avoid Coast in the future.
