Candlewood Suites CHESTER - RICHMOND

Came into town with friends for a wedding. The hotel was lovely. from the clean room to the soft beds. Huge fitness center and free complimentary laundry. Really wish the backyard was available and possibly think about adding a pool and complimentary breakfast. I want to reflect on a staff member, she is the shining star of front desk clerk. She was always smiling always willing to help I witness a guy be rude to her because the coffee was out and she kept it professional and in good spirit. Thank you Shaquita You are the main reason in leaving this review. You kindness and professionalism didn't go unnoticed. I wish more people have your skills and personality. Candlewood Suite you have a great member on your team PLEASE KEEP HER..!!!!!!!!!

The front lobby plays the music too loud. Our room was 128 the very first room on the right from the lobby you could hear the music in the room. The music that was played was vulgar. On the last evening of our stay we came into the lobby to go to our room for the night and the music was using profanity. This was distasteful and disrespectful. Also on the last night around midnight there was a large crowd gathered in the lobby and was so loud we could not sleep. At 1am I called the front desk and complained stating that I had a 6 1/2 hour drive home that day and needed to rest. I was told it would be handled. At 2am the noise was not dealt with and an even larger group had gathered so I called out to complain again and was responded to with excuses. The crowd did not fully leave the lobby until 4am. This was absolutely unacceptable and was told by front desk the next morning how sorry they were but nothing was done. I was also told I was not the only guest that complained that night. I wish I had called the police for the disturbance because the next day with confronting the front desk I was told that most of the crowd were intoxicated. I know the staff was contributing to the problem because the music continued to play in the lobby the whole time. Also I was told by the manager that morning all the guests are required to abide by quiet hours and apparently this is not enforced. I have stayed in National Parks and campgrounds where quiet hours were from 10pm-6pm and I have witnessed whole groups who had spent hundreds of dollars escorted out of the campgrounds because of disturbances like this and that is out in the forest. This was in a hotel where rest is expected.

Beautiful new facility, but even better is the staff! Megan, Shaqutta, and Mathew went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. I understand there are issues when opening a new hotel, but this staff was going well out of their way to make things run smoothly with a positive attitude. They are incredibly dedicated to their job, a rare quality to find these days. The cleanliness of this hotel was the best!!!
