Church Villa B & B

What a gem! As a solo traveller I was delighted by the warm welcome and attention to detail of the hosts. there is a wonderful lounge with a terrific log fire and the breakfast offering is impressive and beautifully served. The house is quiet and very comfortable. It is in a beautiful location and so close to the motorway and local attractions. I can't recommend it highly enough!

We stayed here whilst visiting the UK from New Zealand, and chose Church Villa B&B because we wanted to experience a B&B in an old and quirky British cottage, and we found a winner! Hilary & Graham are excellent hosts, and their offering was lovely, from the welcoming cuppa to the lovely breakfast the next morning. Bed was excellent and we slept very well; ensuite was petite but provided everything we needed. We were just passing through this time, but will stay for longer next time we're in the UK, as the location was excellent for exploring.

We had the most wonderful visit here at Church Lane! The building is a few centuries old and has been expertly renovated with modern conveniences without sacrificing the historic ambiance - no small feat. Breakast is made to order and the homemade bread was really yummy. Graham and Hilary were more like family than innkeepers and Hilary has excellent knowledge of historic sites along with local sites you might miss otherwise. The garden is delightful. Good WiFi, water pressure and access to Haddon Hall, Chatsworth and the Peak District.

The hosts made us feel welcome and the breakfast was cooked beautifully.

Really good, definitely recommended. Really nice. Owners very friendly and had excellent communication levels, breakfast was excellent, parking was private and ample, and use of the garden and living room was fantastic. Thoroughly recommended.

I must say I was impressed with the welcome and morning company. Really nice place to stay. Breakfast was lovely. Coffee so quiet, lovely fire to, I stay in a lot of hotels and have done for over 15 years, so I changed over to a B&B for a change. It was ideal they were very accommodating if I needed anything rub the lamp and it was done. Lovely people lovely place to get your head down. The fire 🔥 perfect. If they had a mini log burner in the conservatory I would happily bring my wife with a bottle or two and spend the weekend if it was snowing even better and trust me the owners would try to accommodate. What would finish this off is a log burning wood barrel hot tub in the garden. Romantic weekend away for couples. Has so much to offer the garden is incredible. Fell in love with the property. But mind your head these properties do have some features from the past. But that’s what makes them special. Something human about this place, made me feel normal.
