A total of three nights stay over two visits:- Two nights stay in the Premier Inn Hotel Chesterfield town centre - all I can currently hear is the thud, thud, thud of music that is being played in the reception and restaurant areas. The type of music and the volume seems to depend on the members of staff who are on shift, it can be an annoying background noise that disrupts everything you do, including trying to get a good night's sleep or it can at times be likened to being next door to a noisy pub or night club. It goes on until all hours with no consideration given to the people who have paid to relax, rest and sleep. Placing your head on a pillow to go to sleep amplifies the noise! I have previously spoken to both management and Premier Inn customer services about the volume of music played in the reception and restaurant areas. A member of the management team confirmed music can be heard from a number of rooms when it is played too loud - having experienced the noise first hand when they stayed at the hotel as a guest "It sounds like you're in a night club in some of the rooms." It's now 11:58pm and the music is getting louder distinct thuds from the bass. Premier Inn customer services have previously stated music should be turned off at midnight, yet here we are after 1.00am with the music still pumping! Avoid room 148 as this room backs directly onto the restaurant area, as well as the music you will enjoy people moving around loudly (due to poor sound proofing) and dining room furniture being dragged across the floor rather than being lifted and carried! If you manage to avoid the night club don't worry also available are rooms where you feel like you are sleeping at the road side due to the loud traffic noise or a little more tranquil is the room with the shower above that sounds like you're directly below Niagara Falls...or we also have the room located next to the heating system, if you are a guest in this room when it goes wrong you will know about it because you will be kept awake with clangs, thuds and humming; maintenance staff lifting ceiling tiles in the corridors to access pipes. It's 10:50 am on the day of departure and the music is louder than ever, it fills the room, and it can be heard above the television - a bit early to be at the club! How can anyone enjoy time in this room with this racket?! Back at Premier Inn Chesterfield town centre as a last resort (Matlock Premier Inn was fully booked) and only for the one night. When I first arrived my room was ice cold, I had to ring reception to get them to turn up the air conditioning so I could have warmth; I was shivering. it took over two hours for the room to heat up. It was so cold I got under the duvet with my clothes on! I have been put in room 101 that is right next door to rooms that are used by staff - kept awake by doors banging - staff in and out. Went to reception at 2.30am to ask to be moved as I have a long journey today. I was told "The hotel is full, we can

Felicity was amazing, she was really attentive and helped with a request I had , not only that her service throughout the week has been second to none. From checking in to serving food and drinks. I can’t recommend this hotel enough based on her.

The rooms are well appointed and a nice size. Everything was clean (particularly the bathroom) and didn't feel tatty. Breakfast was good too - nice selection of food and drink. The hotel is well placed in the town for going out in the evening and there is a very secure mutlistorey carpark literally across the road costing just over £8 a night. The only thing that let the side down was that the room and bathroom were quite cold and, even with the thermostat set to max at 25degC and the fan on full, it was not possible to get the room to a comfortable temperature. This applied to both my room and my friend's room. Overall generally good but the heating system needs looking at.

We normally stay at the Hilton in Sheffield, but in the interests of being able to visit family more frequently we opted for a cheaper option to see how we got on. Even with a 16 month old, we managed a great stay with decent sleep. The service was exceptional and everything was clean, comfortable and good quality. We were particularly surprised by the quality of the food. We had sirloin steak int he evening, and the full breakfast in the morning. It was all great, good value, and plenty of choices for the baby bear. We’ll definitely stay again.

Staff very friendly. Hotel and room very clean and modern. Shower was wonderful. Bed very comfortable had a great nights sleep. Was able to keep our bags there before checking in, so we could go and do some shopping. Restaurant ok, not a lot available on the menu so not much choice. The chef forgot to put chicken on our pizza, we were the first to get served so don’t know why he could forget, but the lady in charge gave us the meal with 50% off as a sorry. All burgers had 50% off full price. Right in the center of town close to the theater. This is our 2nd stay and won’t be our last.
