The London Inn

We stayed here because we were attending a family party in the pub. We were very pleasantly surprised by the experience, having read some of the reviews! Our room was recently decorated and was very clean. Everything worked well. There was some noise (as you would expect) until the pub closed but it was very quiet thereafter, despite being on a main road. The breakfast was very good. Our only criticism was the limited parking but that was probably made worse by the large party that we attended. Overall, a great value stay.

Stayed here for one night,that was enough . No heating on arrival, I put the radiator on my self only to find when I went out for a meal,heating had been turned off from behind the bar,so cold room yet again. Following morning unable to have a shower bathroom was freezing,toilet seat was very loose. Wished to speak to management,only to be told not available. Can only say the whole experience was awful, at least the breakfast was good.

I'm not a big fan of pub stays but this is a decent one. The problems they usually present is creaky floorboards and doors that make for noise at night and in the morning. Also the sound bleed from the pub is not insignificant. I could hear the staff talking as they cleaned and closed up. The single beds are too small - why does any 'hotel' have narrow singles? Other than that, pubs always look like they could do with a make-over, even when there's just been one! The shower cublicle had no shelf for shampoo, etc. There were no USB ports for phone charging in the bedroom. The full breakfast was good enough. I'd say a full English should include black pudding, which it didn't, and the cooked breakfast itself was a little on the dry side (bacon and especially the sausage), but it was filling and with choice of cereals and juice, toast and preserves. Overall a not unpleasant stay, but I'm still a chain hotel boy. I like my 24 hour reception, lifts and corridors rather than lots of eneven floors and creaky floorboards and copious fire doors. I would have given 3.5 stars but I didn't feel it was a 4. I think it's better than a 3.

This old couch house is very quirky because of its age but the cleanliness, food quality and staff could not be beaten. Everything had been done to make visitors comfortable to a very high standard. My full English breakfast the first morning was the best I have had anywhere. It was not a fluke as the second day was just as good as was the dinner. Of course it will be noisy up till around 11pm at weekends as it is such a popular local pub on a main road, but quiet for most of the time.

Arrived early on the Sunday check in was easy, Warm and friendly staff, Quiet room was surprising as it was close to the London Road which is a busy main road. Top breakfast, lovely sleep during the day after working nights, comfortable bed and pillows and warm room.

A Fantastic pub in the village of Charlton Kings. Great beer's and food. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Just a shame the lady behind the bar doesn't have a clue what she is doing. Not stayed here so cannot comment on the rooms.
