A superb B&B close to the downtown area and walkable to the parks and quayside areas. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast excellent and the staff charming. Tea/Coffee is available all day. An added bonus is access to the laundry for just $1 with laundry detergent free - a perfect stay.

What a great place to stay. Beautiful old Victorian home, with lots of room, nooks and crannies, and great space. Wonderful breakfast choices in the morning. Quiche and fruit were delicious. Very kind and sweet staff.

Chris and Li have the loveliest bed and breakfast in a perfect downtown location. It’s a ten minute walk to the main drag, a 2 minute walk to Victoria Park and the waterfront boardwalk, and yet it is quiet at night in their plant-filled haven. Their 130 year old house and warm maritime hospitality feels like it belongs to another era (when you could pay mid-income prices but still feel as spoiled as an upper classer!). Yet the beds and pillows are modern and super comfortable. My only complaint was slightly weak water pressure, but if you want to stay at the holiday inn and get a really great shower (instead of fresh cut irises and peonies on the breakfast table, and tea on the egg swing in the solarium), then you don’t deserve the magic this place provides!

Very satisfied with my stay. When I came in there was fresh bread baking - very welcoming! Location is perfect walking distance to local tourist stuff plus a really nice waterfront walk. In the heart of many heritage homes. I was at the tail end of my trip so doing a load of laundry was so convenient. Breakfast is simple and good. Go out for your own coffee if drip coffee is a no-no for you. I would happily return again as I really liked the vibe and of course, very clean. Free parking. Bed was very comfortable and I loved the pillows but I know some folks may find them too flat. For me, this is a great place to stay and I would return!

From the moment that we checked into The Sonata Inn until the moment we left everything was perfect. The room was clean and well appointed. Breakfasts were good and individual tastes and needs were taken into consideration. The location was ideal. We could walk to everything that we wanted to see and do. Our stay at The Sonata Inn was very satisfying.

Great location by the water and can walk to town. Breakfast was well done and they leave coffee, tea and water out so you can enjoy. I loved the guest laundry it made packing light easier. Very friendly staff. My only issue was the house and room are in rough shape. A bit dated and could use some painting but they keep it clean. I felt safe and comfortable as a solo traveller.
