We met our hosts and they were so welcoming and helpful without being at all intrusive. We’ve stayed at other places in this area when we visit family but this is our go to in the future. "Stayed overnight after a family event and couldn't have been happier with my experience. Very accommodating to my request to check-in early to change after a long drive. Delicious set menu supper. It was a Tues in early Feb, but there were plenty of locals in the restaurant and many obviously regulars. Comfortable room and en suite, spotlessly clean and comfortable with A/C. Fresh and tasty breakfast. Great value. It is a restaurant with rooms in the centre of a bustling but small market town. Some reviewers obviously hadn't done their research if they were expecting anything different. Parking was a bit tricky, but the Sainsburys next door has a big car park with cheap tariff (cash or App payments only). I'd happily recommend and would stay again. "

"Had to stay in Chard for work. Usually stay at one of the chains nearby but decided to go for something different but for a similar price. Very glad I did! Really friendly couple, nice clean room, great locally sourced breakfast. I will definitely be staying there again."

"Outstanding breakfast with gourmet options. Lovely hosts. Building and room had lots of old fashioned character and charm. Room was small but cosy and had lovely amenities such as very nice quality linens, filtered water, a fan which made the air circulation perfect, and a nicely equipped but compact bathroom. Lovely sit to sit outside and enjoy the garden. Beds were quite narrow and the traffic on the road was heavy and noisy during certain parts of the day. I had thought I had booked a room facing the garden and was disappointed to find it was at the front of the house."
