Jharna Resort Navegaongate Tadoba

Bear with the long review. What i endured was worse than this review. After booking through Agoda, someone contacts me on Whatsapp saying that i rather book through the resort directly and they will offer me significant discount. I did not trust this person until they shared my complete Agoda booking details which comforted me that no one else by Jharna resort would have my personal and booking details with them. I went ahead and cancelled Agoda booking and paid the person for the accommodation, 3 times meals, tiger safari bookings and also for date change fee. All in, i paid Rs. 17,800. After driving for more than 800 kms from Mumbai, in the evening of check-in i understand that the resort guys already know of this scam and that i had to pay for my accommodation again (albeit at a "goodwill" discounted price of Rs 9000). I, ***** with the hotel manager, went to Chimur police station to file complaint. To my surprise, the hotel manager did not file any complaint against the scammer and only asked me to file the complaint, which i did, against Jharna resort for leaking my personal data to anonymous people outside, and i claimed refund of my original money paid. The resort manager called in sick the day we were to checkout. Also the hotel owner, who was to turn up to meet us, also cancelled his visit. The resort leaks data and then makes you pay twice. Chimur police asked the resort to refund us our money that was paid to the scamster. However, they havent. DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY BOOKING AT THIS RESORT.

So many horror stories about this resort. First things first, Bhagyasree from the sales team gave me a bad experience with booking safaris. She took 16k extra for 4 safaris than the usual safari price. Some amount of it is acceptable as service charge but 16k for 4 safaris is outrageous. When asked about it, she returned 10k and kept 6k as service charge which i was ok with. And here comes the worst part, on the day of safari, we realized one person’s name from our group was not mentioned at all in our safari booking. That person was stopped from entering the safari and when we called her from the safari gate in distress, she rudely said nothing can be done now and ot was my responsibility to check beforehand. I should have checked, but what did pay the service charge of 1500rs for each safari. They could not even enter the names right. Very traumatic! Then comes the actual resort part. We booked the best rooms available in the hotel called premium rooms. And they were the worst i have seen of late. Very unclean bathrooms with hard water stains and other stains on commode and washbasins, dusty walls, paint falling off the walls when we open the doors, and soiled bed linen. Even when we asked the staff to clean again upon checkin, they cleaned a bit and skipped the rest. Very unprofessional of them. Swimming pool water was dirty. Food was fine and adjusted as per our requirements, that is the only better part of staying here. I hated the experience so much that i was actually looking forward to my check out. Would never come back here!

The help staff was prompt in addressing the concerns and the chef Sanjay was personalising the menu as per the individual preference every day. The management endorsed comfort 90 % of the time. The manager Sandeep also went out of the way to arrange for safari so as to increase the probability of tiger sightings I would definitely recommend the resort especially for mid adults and families....!

The Resort was great with a feel of the jungle. We stayed in the cottages which were spacious with a lovely patio The highlight for us was the food since Chef Sanjay made sure we got the yummest food . Sanjay would ask us what we wanted and gave us some delicious food. will surely be back

Resort location is good. Rooms are big and good including bathrooms and wardrobe area. However, we had major concerns with insects and frogs coming into the room specifically during night which can be a major concern if travelling with kids. The resort we feel is understaffed for maintenance and if cleanliness and maintenance is improved it can go to next level. Good infrastructure and proximity to forest is the USP but maintenance and cleanliness was a concern. Food was decent.
