I stayed at Dahachok Homestay for about one week, basically a small transit workcation. For me, it had all the things I desired: - The location is serene and quiet, while still, it is just about 20 minutes until the inner city of Kathmandu. - The air was clean, and the landscape was beautiful. One might not expect rural Nepal conditions, but it had as much nature as one can get given the proximity to Kathmandu. - On two days, I undertook day hikes to the surrounding mountains. There are some fantastic views to catch on Kathmandu and the valley, so also a good location for spontaneous hiking. - There are plenty of shops around to buy all the everyday stuff, all within a 5-minute walking distance. - The terrasse on the second floor and the desk in my room offered good working conditions. The internet, especially the mobile data, was flawless, much better than I expected. So work calls and Netflix are both possible. - The room has an excellent bed (and I am usually quite picky since I quickly develop back pain when sleeping on bad mattresses), and the rooms were clean. In addition, the bathroom provided warm water all day. - The food they offer was delicious and, which was a delight, most of the things are self-grown/organic. The menu is relatively small, but, well, it is a homestay, not a Hilton. 😉 And all that for a very affordable price making this homestay a great place to stay. I'll be back! 😊
