No hot water. Room was full of mosquitoes and the lock on the door didn’t make me feel comfortable.

This was a pretty good hotel for the money. Certainly not the cheapest option in Battambang, but a step above the more budget options and probably worth the extra money. The facilities were good, with the pool area being particularly nice. I really enjoyed the purified water station to refill your water bottle, which is far too rare in Cambodia. The front desk staff were friendly and spoke pretty good English. My room was really nice, and most importantly, super quiet as it was like a detached bungalow. Bed was comfy and towels/linens were clean and in good shape. The only negative with this place is that it is quite far removed from the main part of downtown Battambang. While that help with the nearby noise, it makes going out for dinner require a tuk tuk. Also they close and lock the exterior gate rather early, and although there is a staff member sleeping nearby who will begrudgingly wake up when you knock/ring, it is still quite inconvenient if you decide to go downtown for a few drinks. Still, I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet and comfortable place to sleep and are willing to spend a little more than budget accommodation prices.

I stayed there two nights for the trip. For the first night, it wasn’t good at all about the general water to use but the second night was good.

A tired hotel that feels like more of a Homestay and quite unloved . The price is too high for the quality of the hotel . The whole place is not very clean at all . Breakfast however is pretty good but very unorganised .

A wonderful garden, nice rooms and bathrooms, good restaurant and very polite and efficient staff. The hotel is a quiet oasis far from the noisy Battambang and the ratio price quality is perfect. A perfect place in Cambodia

The Sanctuary has the great atmosphere of a hidden secret garden with a pool in the middle surrounded by bungalow style rooms. The rooms are very spacious but would need a bit of a facelift, including the change of some furniture and that would really elevate the marketability of the hotel. The staff were super nice, they organized a boat ride for the next day very late in the evening. It didn’t even feel right to complain about the fact that they forgot our promised packed breakfast the next morning.

The pictures are over 10 years old. Please take time to investigate BEFORE paying for a room. The hotel is half the size shown, the rooms have not been refreshed in many years. The bathroom is dirty, small, and the toilet and shower room is on broken cement on a downward slope. The mattress is very hard so if stiff, hard mattress is your choice, it may work for you. Just very, very difficult for any person with disabilities.

Our stay here ended up working quite well and we only needed to walk the 10mins into town once. In the afternoons and evenings it was lovely to come back to the pool. Only issue was the mosquitoes which the pond next to our room can't have helped. They do have nets for the beds. Breakfast was a great selection for a smaller place like this and we also had dinner one night which was reasonably priced and tasty. They organised a car transfer to Siem Reap for us at a good price and were quick to respond to messages. For the price, this was a good value stay.
