Newly finished in 2025, brand new and hand built 400 sq/ft cabin in the woods with two huge 6ft x 6ft windows looking out into the woods. This cabin is a labor of love - 90% of the wood used in the build was milled on site. The wood is as local as it gets, harvested from trees directly on the property. Located on 10 acres with several small ponds, you'll have direct access to 1.5 miles of private trails to hike or bike through a varied woodland terrain. Relax on the covered patio, or explore the area. Just 2 minutes to Cloudland Canyon State Park, 30 minutes to Chattanooga, 25 minutes to Rock City. In an effort to help unplug there is no Wifi, but there is a selection of DVDs, books, and games. Cell service is good and the cabin is accessed from a short (150ft) dirt driveway, and a 250 ft lighted walking trail from the parking area. Cabin amenities include an induction cooktop, microwave, toaster oven, and full size refrigerator as well as full size laundry. The cabin is private but you may be visited by our free ranging chickens, curious cat “Claire” or some of the many deer. Also, our family of 4 (two young children) live in the main house (250 ft away). Access and parking are separate. I'm a true fan of the outdoors and am well-versed in local hiking and biking trail information. Lookout Mountain looms above from the east.Guest accessGuests are free to roam the property at their leisure. Walk down to Lookout Creek and drop a line in the water for bass and bream. Hike around the property along old farm roads and logging trails. Stop at the barn and feed the chickens. We are 35 miles from Chattanooga Tn and 2 hours from Atlanta Ga., Nashville Tn., Knoxville Tn. and Birmingham Al.Come stay and this beautiful rustic wood cabin and enjoy the sounds of nature. Renting this cabin gives you access to multiple fishing lakes. We are 30 minutes from downtown Chattanooga where you can enjoy the Tennessee Aquarium, take a walk over the Walnut Street Bridge and enjoy Coolidge Park or you can visit Rock City or Ruby Falls. We are 15 minutes from Cloudland Canyon State Park where you can enjoy miles of hiking trails. We are 20 minutes from the Wilderness Outdoor Movie Theater if you would like to go to a drive in movie. The outdoor theater closes during the Winter. Cabin has a coded door lock. I will send guests a message with the code the day before they are scheduled to arrive.
