We travelled to Tuscany for our Honeymoon in September. We had been looking forward to spending our first four days away with much needed lazing around the pool, absorbing the last of the summer sun, eating, drinking and generally relaxing together after a busy few months organizing our wedding. Villa Petriolo did not disappoint and hit all the marks. The team happily answered our questions in the run up to going away so we had a little bit of a plan prior to arriving - dinner reservations, organizing hire of e-bike for the day (well worth it, we didn't do the guided e-bike tour but Paulo (from the e-bike company) happily sent me some googlemap routes that were perfect - taking in Vinci and going upto where Leonardo da Vinci was born). Happy to confirm that E-bikes are the best modern invention. Our junior suite was charming and we couldn't have wished for better, with exceptional views out across the estate and hills, a lovely card, a welcome bottle of their own sparkling wine and chocolates were there waiting for us upon arrival - thank you. Breakfast every day was brilliant, showing all of the delights that the local area had to offer including fresh honey and various cuts from their very own pigs that are kept on site. My wife was particularly pleased with the breads. it was great to not see fruit from far flung corners of the world, but a real reflection of the wonderful produce that is available locally/regionally. Do explore the grounds and say hello to the donkeys, sheep and pigs. They may very well be appearing on your plate later. But you can be safe in the knowledge that they are well looked after and truly cared for with respect. We had access to the spa one afternoon, which was great, as well as the spa pool area, we were one of only two couples in there, a perfect way to spend an afternoon. Well worth it. We ate in the PS restaurant on one of the evenings, and they had set the tables up on the terrace - what a setting - with Tuscan hills, warm end of summer air, the perfect evening light and, of course, exceptional food and wine created and served by very talented people. We were lucky enough to be shown round by the owner and his partner, charming, relaxed, friendly and informative. They both had a clear passion for everything that Villa Petriolo stands for, and they have exciting plans for the future also. You really could feel the historic influence these villas had on communities and they were passionate about ensuring this aspect was restored and maintained at Villa Petriolo. All the staff were friendly and kind, in particular the guest service manager. He spent time to find out where we were going to be heading to next etc. He happily made recommendations, shared googlepins of things that were a little more hidden and even made us a dinner reservation for later in the week for when we went going to be staying near Siena. I watched him one late afternoon spending time with various other guests, you could
