Sunset Hotel

Picturesque Cefalu I have just stayed at Hotel Sunset which overlooks the beautiful beach at Cefalu. I thoroughly recommend the Hotel Sunset. Spotlessly clean very attentive staff. Any queries were quickly resolved. Excellent breakfast today lovely selection of fresh fruit. Do not hesitate in booking you will not be disappointed.

Superb! A superb hotel in every way. Location, close to the old center, 2 min walk, covered parking, superb rooms with sea view. The rooftop pool offers you an amazing view. Varied breakfast, exceptionally good coffee. Italy, with kind, welcoming people and quality services. Martha at the front desk was extremely professional and kind. Thank you Martha for everything, your kindness made our stay at Sunset Hotel much nicer! I recommend 100%.

This is a clean, modern, beautiful hotel. Mr. Sal and his staff were amazing as well. The rooftop pool and bar have beautiful views of the city and the location is extremely convenient as well. Right across the from the beach and walking distance to town.

Sunset Hotel was probably the biggest let down of our entire trip. From the moment we arrived, we quickly noticed that we would not be receiving the level of hospitality and service that we were spoiled by from other stays. We pulled up to the Sunset Resort after a 2.5 hour drive from Taormina (SD, FS), and had a difficult time locating the parking garage. I had parked out front and sent my wife in to ask for help and some questions, and she came back to the car stating the front desk wanted me to go in. I had gone in, and the front desk quickly ran through the hotels amenities (breakfast), parking, beach access, et al. I had asked if someone would be helping with the bags, the gentleman at the front desk said there is an elevator in the garage that will take us straight to our rooms. Not particularly the answer I had hoped to hear, but OK, we just had a long drive and I wanted to get the car unloaded and onto the beach already. We get to the room, and it is very very small. Which is fine, however the room is really the bare minimum when it comes to creature comforts and amenities. It is very difficult to travel to this resort with many bags. We each had 1 carry on, and 1 checked suitcase, and had to move furniture around in order to be able to open our bags in the room. The room itself is quite warm. They do not provide any complimentary water/refreshments in the room. They also tell you that you are limited to ONE towel per person for your entire stay, and that additional towels will be charged to your room at €4 per towel. The real problems start at night. We learned that our balcony was right up against a giant flashing ferris wheel, and a theme park. If you are this side of the hotel, you will have noise ALL night long. Screaming of adults and children, flashing lights, a DJ and Emcee. Luckily there is a black out shade, but even our White Noise apps on our phone weren't enough to drown out all the noise. Then at 6 am, hotel construction starts. This I have to believe was in the room right next to ours, and literally up against our headboard. They are demo'ing the room and you hear crashing of hammers, material, glass, drilling, sawing. We woke up to these noises everyday at 6am. We complained to the front desk and they had told us that they already provided us with an upgraded room, and this room was supposedly superior to the room we had booked. We were also assured that it would not happen again, and that the workers were not supposed to begin until later in the day. This is all a bunch of BS. We heard them tell this same exact story to other guests who were complaining about their rooms. To make matters worse, construction happened everyday at 6AM, regardless of our complaints, and many times they told us this was a big mistake and they were not supposed to start working yet. The room was relatively clean, and the cleaning girls were very sweet and nice, but we instructed the front desk that we did NOT want any cleaning to our rooms

Thank you to all the staff at Sunset hotel for making a very wonderful holiday.Wonderful position 50 Mtrs from beach roof top pool gives wonderful views of resort. Hotel immaculate,lovely historic city,lots of restaurants.The new spar and fitness centre will be fantastic to open in September.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDE!!!! We stayed for business for 4 days/3 nights, it was the best experience I have had in a long time with a beachfront property. The property was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions or concerns that we had, I will definitely return again.

Salvatore and his team were brilliant. They have created a friendly atmosphere my wife and I were treated like family. A special mention for the lounge pianist who always has a smile, sit and listen for a few minutes you will be impressed! The hotel is situated close to the beach and a short walk to beautiful Cefalu town. The infinity pool on the roof was a good way to wind down with a cool drink from the bar. Rooms were spotlessly clean ours had sea views. Breakfast was great with plenty of fresh fruit and pastries. Cefalu can get a bit noisy at night so if you’re not for dancing all night take some ear plugs and download a white noise app!

We stayed in the Villa Cerniglia Plus which is the apartment connected to and run by The Sunset Spa Hotel Room was a disgrace, hair in the bidet, plug grate broken glass n shower, safe broken and not fixed, sliding door to balcony unable to be locked and we shared an area with next door’s apartment. Window couldn’t be opened without getting a hernia and the sliding shutters didn’t slide so slept with the sun coming in. To top it off the pool is 15 euro a day, eggs with breakfast another 5 euro. If you want to go to their private beach it’s another 40euro and just to get a beach towel for your deck - 4 euro each and the breakfast didn’t include eggs ffs - another 5 euro pp This isn’t on the Bookings site Cefalu is a lovely

While the room was a bit small, the location and the hotel was wonderful. The staff could not have been nicer and the proximity to the city center and the beach were fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel and Cefalu in general. It is a wonderful place and I only wish we had stayed longer!
