Days Inn by Wyndham Cedar Falls- University Plaza

This place is freaking disgusting. The floors and walls are covered in food and what looks like bodily fluids. The phone didn’t work. When looking for the remote to the television we discovered not only is there no remote, there’s no power cord to the tv. When I told the front desk they said: “yeah” and went about their business. When I tell you I was actually scared for my families safety, I’m not exaggerating. I stepped foot in our room and immediately looked for bed bugs. The “breakfast” is pathetic. Waffles, stale bread and half a box of cereal; half a gallon of rotten milk in the refrigerator; the juice dispenser spit out apple and orange flavored water. The floors are sloped and uneven, I almost tripped multiple times. There’s no elevator and the stairs are nasty. They claimed they had no extra pillows and handed me a wad of random sheets and blankets when I asked for more linens. The jankiest, most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Avoid at all costs.

My family and I booked a room at the Days Inn by Wyndham Cedar Falls-University Plaza 2025 and were very disappointed in our stay. When we arrived the hotel smelled musty and the lobby looked as if it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks, even though there were vacuums sitting in the open by the check in desk. As we were walking to our room we had to step over dirty linen that was left on the steps. Once we got to our room we couldn’t believe how dirty it was. There are several photos below to show the state our room was in. We were only given 2 towels, even though we had 3 people on the reservation. The floor again look as if it hadn’t not been vacuumed in weeks and we were afraid to even take our shoes off to shower. The shower was another story. The curtain was stained and dirty and there were strains of long black hair that had been left on the shower wall. It was apparent that the shower had not been cleaned after the last guest had left. As you can see in the photo below the Kleenex cover was rusty and there was a white substance on the coffee maker. There were random holes in the walls that were covered in dirt and greasy fingerprints. While I was looking for an extra plug I found a used Q-tip on the ground (photo below). There were cords all over around the TV that looked as if they could be a fire hazard. Had there been a fire we wouldn’t have been able to use the phone because it did not work. When I told the front desk about the phone not working, they said they would send some up to check, which never happened. In the morning we went down to where the continental breakfast was supposed to be served. To say that was a breakfast was a far stretch. There was a waffle maker, juice, coffee, a half gallon and of milk in the refrigerator and 2 options for cereal. There was no fresh fruit, no eggs or protein of any kind. There were several other hotels in the area that we could have chosen to stay at, but chose Days Inn by Wyndham because of the reputation we thought they had. After this experience we are sad to say that for our future hotel needs we will be looking somewhere else. When I called to complain about how I was treated at the hotel, the receptionist told me I would not be getting my money back because I should have said something prior to my leaving. After being yelled at by man about towels I did not feel comfortable going to the front desk since he was the same man who had checked me in at the beginning of the reservation. I also made complaints about the phone not working and no one came to check on the phone, so why would I think that my complaints about the state of the room would be answered. I emailed Wyndham's customer service on Saturday July 12th regarding my complaint and the photos attached and did not receive any communication from them.

I had no TV the whole 2 days I stayed for. Nobody on nights or days knew how to program a remote to the TV that was in my room. Completely arrogant and rude the staff was. I wish I hadn't purchased the no cancelation. I am aware this isn't a 5star hotel. But I paid for the few amenities and not having a TV is unacceptable

Wish I could put a 0 stars, they literally gave our room to someone else after we booked online and paid and didn’t say anything about it. How is that even possible, like we told them when we were coming and obviously wouldn’t think someone would give OUR ROOM to someone else. very unprofessional. never coming back.

Booked this through Chase Travel for my daughter who was traveling to this town to attend part of her grad school classes. On check in she was told that the room would take time to heat up. The temp outside was in the teens. She left to get her groceries and came back, room still didn't warmed up even with the thermostat set to 80. She asked them to fix the heat in her room and their response was they couldn't do anything about it. They will issue her a full refund if she wants to leave (she checked out the next day out of 12 days). They never refunded, I had to contact Chase Travel 6 days later after she checked out. Meanwhile I had to book another hotel for the rest of the 11 days she has to be in town. The manager acted like he had no concern for the guests welfare. Another guest didn't have lights in her room. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The beds were clean and comfortable. The mirror on the bathroom door was covered in water spots. The breakfast was minimal. There was a waffle option, but I suspect it was yesterday's batter in there since large dry chunks fell off into my cup, and when I got a new cup, there was not enough batter for a whole waffle. The staff member we dealt with during our stay was abrupt, bordering on rude.
