We were there as day visitors but we were treated like guest with so much respect and dignity. I highly recommend their Blue Grotto hiking trail. The scenery is mind blowing especially when you reach the waterfalls. Bring your swimming clothes to take a dip. The guides are very helpful. We hiked by ourselves but they were available on the phone all the time. They also checked on us, Very commendable Lunga was always a phone call away. Nomfundo and Protus were also very helpful. I will definitely come for a stay next time. The resort has a lot of facilities and activities. You definitely won't be bored.

I had a relaxing time in this beautiful resort. I wish I had more days. I always wished to visit the resort and I was not disappointed. Dinner was the highlight for me as it was classic Southern Sun which we do not see any more. The buffet had a very good variety catering for everyone. My vegetarian wife also enjoyed the food and the selection. The views from the room and the grounds were amazing.

Even with some updates needed to this older resort, we had an amazing time! The staff is top notch, the food is great and you cannot beat the beautiful grounds. I had probably one of the best massages ever and we loved the “home” zebras so much, we named them Lennon and McCartney. We will return!

It's not the first time we stayed here on a weekend getaway But the service keeps getting better!! It is a cosy and comfortable atmosphere in a remarkable setting! The friendly staff treat you like family and the food is always amazing! There are numerous amenities at the hotel or very close by Always a pleasant stay and will definitely go back Again and again

Bad experience!! Would not go there again We booked for a night there as senior citizen rates, a person who is called Africa and said he was the manager which I doubt failed to tell us that the chalets have a lot of stairs to get to and lots of stairs in the chalet which was not suitable for senior citizens. We asked to be moved and they refused to change us to a suitable unit, with disgusting attitude, and couldn’t care less attitude,they told us we can leave and refund us, which I hope they will do and we had to find accommodation at the last minute at another resort, how’s that for service!!!

This hotel has magnificent views and lovely walks surrounding the property. There are however, some issues that need to be addressed. There was a strong smell of urine coming from the bathroom all the time during our visit which made it unpleasant to be in the room. The waitering staff need more training to be welcoming to guests, the first sentence should not be ‘how are you paying?’ together with being chased across the floor and being asked ‘are you leaving? When the host was still sitting at the table and about to pay. Leaning over guests to clear tables is also not acceptable. The dinner buffet wasn’t too bad but roast potatoes and rostis should not be steaming under lids. Lovely swimming pool.

There are 12 timeshare chalets in the Drakensberg Sun complex. They are separate from the hotel in a wooded area and are self catering units. The units have a wonderful setting facing the mountains with large trees inbetween the chalets holding lots of bird life. Our unit can accommodate 8 visitors in two bedrooms, a loft and the lounge. The units have two bathrooms and a kitchen and dining room, and a magnificent balcony with a table and a braai fireplace so that you can eat level with the top of the trees. The units are fully serviced by the cleaning staff. We ate at the hotel on one night and braaied for ourselves on others. You have to be prepared to climb a lot of stairs if you want to stay in these units as they are on the side of a hill and our unit has five different floor levels. ad a wonderful stay.

This was my second breakaway to this beautiful resort. Never again. Baboons broke into our chalet and took Away our food and snacks. We were misled by telling us the baboon invasion is not a serious problem but they are currently trying to remedy/control the situation The lie is that the problem is existing for a long time and Nothing is being done about. Lack of courtesy and CARE is worrysome now. This resort is sure to lose its credibility. It seems that it’s a case of COME AT YOUR OWN RISK AND LOSS… no courtesy compensation was offered beside a measly omelette breakfast as our food was taken away by the baboons.

Check in process was excellent, Reception looks very good. Dining area excellent. Rooms are clean but the furniture is very old and having some cracks. Entrance door including locking mechanism is also old. The room that i chose was the deluxe room but its not deluxe at all. I paid a premium for that room i.e. R3950.00 per night but it doesnt deserve that price yet its 4 Star rated. I doesnt deserve the 4 Star rating but 3 Star. The facilities at the hotel are great.
