After staying at the pods for a weekend, I was left feeling a mixture of feelings… Positives: Upon arriving, we were sent a code for our pod lock keys and were able to access our paid-for log cabin and hot tub without any unnecessary confrontation with receptionists or other staff. The facilities at Pod’s on Broadway were fantastic for couples or smaller families with younger children. Hot tubs (if booked), fish ponds, and pool tables were on offer, with very accommodating accessibility. The overall surrounding area was close to historical sites such as the Laugharne Castle, Dylan Thomas walks, or Pendine Sands beach, which were only minutes from the Pods at Broadway retreat, offering a variety of beach activities, restaurant-quality meals, or historical expeditions for those more interested. Another positive was the cleanliness of the pods and overall maintenance of the surrounding area. I found that everything was spotless, and even small details like pillows and blankets were carefully coordinated and kept in mind (this is something that is missed too often by other companies). The touches made by Pods at Broadway were very much appreciated and made my overall stay a better one to remember. Unfortunately, there were some negatives to my stay that made the experience less pleasant: Negatives: After settling into the cabin, we were hungry and in need of some good food, and when reading the Pods @ Broadway site, we were met with some rather expensive meals (which we paid for as they were just on our doorstep). However, there were few options on the menu, and when we ordered two large meat feasts, we were told to pick them up 30 minutes later from the manor. When arriving at the manor some minutes later, we were not greeted by any staff; the place was deserted, and the wait time for our meals was way over 30 minutes and instead about 50 minutes to an hour. Anyway, when the member of staff brought them out to us, we were left startled by surprise that the pizzas were intact, undercooked, and only had cheese and small pieces of ham on them. We decided not to complain and eat them anyway; however, later on that evening, we ordered large cheesy chips for around £5, which was not a bad price compared to other places in the area, but upon receiving them, I was met with 10 wedges and not a large amount of chips. Again, we decided not to complain, as we thought this was only a one-time error. Another issue we had with the site was that limited resources were provided throughout our stay. We called reception for new bin liners and toilet roll, as there were three of us and we were staying for three days; however, when calling, we were integrated by the receptionist about why we needed more toilet roll (bare in mind that there were three of us during this stay). Luckily, we battled through and were asked to collect them from reception. Again, this took longer than anticipated as reception was unmanned and the member of staff was upstairs on the rec
