Afon Duad Inn

Sandra and Sion are exceptional hosts. They welcomed us with true Welsh hospitality and made our 5 day visit to the area that much more enjoyable. I can’t reccomend their Inn enough, we really felt like honoured guests. The breakfast and dinners were all of high quality sourced from the Celtic pride quality label of producers. We were asked if we wanted things that weren’t on the menu, then miraculously those items appears either on the menu the next day, or were available as a special for us to eat the next day. They’d get 5 stars for that alone in my view however their genial, local and authentic approach to guests, their pride in Wales and Welsh hospitality are evident from the moment you walk in so I’d giving them an extra star (6 stars) I’ve never had such bespoke service from anywhere I’ve stayed, therefore I would wholeheartedly and unreservedly reccomend this to anyone wishing to stay in the Carmarthen area. Thank you Sion, thank you Sandra, you made my son and myself feel like special guests.

Well where do I start? From arriving to leaving, nothing was to much trouble for Sion and Sandra. This is not a run of the mill B&B it's a place where you are welcomed with open arms and made to feel part of the community. The locally sourced and home cooked food was an absolute delight and a pleasure to eat. My room was well stocked with a really comfortable bed, which was welcome after a long days ride through all types of weather in the Welsh mountains. Would I recommend the Afon Duad Inn? Hell yes, I'd be mad not too. If I knew beforehand, that there was such a warm and pleasant welcome awaiting me at the Afon Duad Inn, this is were I'd have started and ended my Welsh Tour. We chose this Inn because it was close to where we wanted to be. I had read previous reviews and thought that not everyone could be wrong! We stayed for one night in a room that was spotless and had everything we needed. Our dinner was amazing as was our breakfast! Our hosts were amazing; such a pleasant, easygoing couple who were just excellent company. I can’t remember when I enjoyed an evening in a bed and breakfast lounge. We laughed, we chatted and took the mickey. Can’t thank our hosts enough. We will return; and that’s a threat!😂😂

Went to this pub recently when it actually decide to open, Don't have a tab , pay for your drinks as and when you purchase them and being offered a sample of a drink is not complimentary the cost is charged to your tab even if you didn't want the thing and said so in the first place. Same goes with the offer of a 'drink on me' or 'on the house get charged. Not surprising it's for sale and hardly ever open.
