Amazon Tupana Jungle Lodge

We stayed as part of a trip around Brazil which was organised by tour compass. We upgraded to stay in one of the huts overlooking the river for 400 brl as it was a lot cooler than the bungalow we were initially in. There is no AC and only a plug in fan which does the job when they don’t turn the electricity off which they do daily. Be prepared for some bugs / frogs on these rooms as they aren’t sealed. There is a mosquito net around the bed which helped keep some bugs out but there aren’t any mosquitos there. Carlos our guide was great and all the staff were lovely and friendly. The food was nice and served at set times, my tip would be to make sure you are on time. We also went on the overnight camp out with the intention of not sleeping but we were allowed to stay for the bbq and we were kindly escorted back home after the food. It was a great experience

I can absolutely recommend staying at Amazon Tupana Lodge. The location is remote and the facilities are great. We stayed for 4 days and felt so comfortable. There were a variety of activities on the program (jungle trek, different boat rides, etc.). Our guides Carlos and William were wonderful! Carlos led every activity with such passion and effort, he is an outstanding guide. Both he and William made our experience at Amazon Tupana Lodge unforgettable. In fact, the food was exceptional - a lot of wonderful Brazilian treats. Overall, I can highly recommend staying at Tupana!

It was very nice experience. The place so quite and clean with a nice reception .people working there where so nice kind the food was nice and cooked with love , No Wifi there no Internet u can have the chance to be away the busy life . 3 nights 4 days are enough ! Enjoy your stay , and always ask about a guide called Carlos he is so nice Hope u a beautiful stay !!

I will try to find the best words to describe the life changing adventure my family and I had while staying at Amazon Tupana. Being a Brazilian, it was my dream to visit Amazônia, but it's not an easy or very affordable location. I contacted a few hotels, but Tupana was the only one that made me feel confident enough, so my family and I stayed 4 days and 3 nights. From the very beginning of the trip, we felt very welcome and at home. The van driver Charles is an amazing person and extremely friendly. When we got to the lodge, Lima (the guide) and Marcia (the manager) welcomed us in a very warm way. The food is really good and the boat tours are amazing. Because of the acidity of the river, there are not that many mosquitoes, which is great. Also, know that if you're staying at tupana, your money is supporting the local community directly. They will take you to visit the natives (who they financially support monthly), so remember to have cash or clothes/books for donation. It made me happy to know that during the pandemic, the owner of tupana raised around 8.000,00 reais to support the ribeirinhos, so they could have gasoline for boats and food. Amazonia is an important natural beauty, but don't forget that many people depend on it for their existence, so I would rather stay in a place that invest that money back to the locals, instead of somewhere that pocket their profit and doesn't care about the community. My experience at Tupana was 10/10.

It is a wonderful place. Quiet and relaxing! The people working there are lovely. The guides are passionate in what they do. They love their job. I was happily guided by Lima. We did lots of wonderful tours. He is thoughtful and adapts it to your wishes. The food is delicious! Probably the best I had in Brazil so far. Perfect for vegans or vegetarians (soy meat options). The cabanas are lovely and sooo comfy. The area must have been the most wonderful place I have been. Given that we are in the middle of nowhere, they manage it the BEST and most sustainable way. I will be back for sure.. thank you for this experience!

Patricia is the best! Couldn't participate but got immediate support, were brought to the doctor and pharmacy and got a 100% refund in cash! Best help in times of need! We booked the Tupana Lodge because it was a longtime dream of ours to dive into the Amazon World. Unfortunately we got sick the night before the tour started. We contacted Patricia from the reservation office and she immediately drove us to the doctor and waited there with us for a couple of hours. Her family joined us and supported us. After that she drove us to two pharmacies to get the medication. To get immediate help in times of need was a great relief since we don't speak Portuguese and the hotel couldn't help us. Patricia and the Tupana Lodge understand what it means to be in pain and need help in a foreign country. She called us and checked in how we felt and if we needed help with anything. Unfortunately it didn't get better soon so we couldn't participate in the tour we booked but Patricias supervisor gave us a 100% refund and Patricia gave it to us in cash because we asked for it. She said that the Tupana Lodge sends the best wishes and hopes we get well soon. Although we weren't at the Tupana Lodge, we had the best experience with Patricia and her supervisor taking care of us in times of need. This is the reason we wanted to tell everyone about our story and we deeply wish the best for the Tupana Lodge and hope that we can make it there one day. Sending our love, Theresa and Mike
