Hotel Marinella - Private Free Parking - Grotticelle Beach 200 m

I went with a friend, first holiday in Italy, the hotel is an hour transfer from the airport so we booked it through the hotel, excellent service, comfy Mercedes so no complaints. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are lovely, big thanks to Theadora on reception, an absolute star. The hairdryer was faulty, it was replaced, again thank you Theadora, however, I would recommend taking your own hairdryer as I lost the will to live trying to use the hotel one. The hotel is situated on the hillside with stunning views, but it's a steep road down to the beach and the hotel charges for the use of the sun beds provided there, they also charge for the little road train to bring you back up the hill from the beach, so we stayed around the pool area which we had to ourselves most days. We were the only English people there, the other guests were German, this seems to be the norm for the hotel as the dinner menu was in German. The food at dinner was ok, the ships bell is rung at 19.30 and everyone queues to get salad and whatever else is on the menu for the starters, as there were no labels on any of the dishes we didn't know what a lot of things were, but we tried everything, it's definitely catering for German tourists, there was also a pasta dish served at tables and usually a choice of meat or fish, everyone gets the same dessert, we didn't starve but I wouldn't say it was great. Because of the remoteness of the hotel there's no bars or restaurants or a shop, it's quite a decent walk up the hill to the bus stop and the train station and the hotel will arrange taxis for you. We had a lovely meal at a restaurant about a half mile walk away up the hill, but apart from that you're stuck with eating in the hotel. The beds were firm in the extreme, but the room was spacious with a balcony and very clean, there's no lift and lots of steps outside so it's definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. We had a relaxing week which is what we wanted but it would have been better if there had been a bit more around the hotel so you had a choice for eating and drinking. If you're after a lively holiday this is definitely not the place to go, if you're after peace and quiet and like walking up and down hills it's perfect.

A good night A very pleasant stay. Shower is hot, bed is firm, area is safe and quiet, front desk very helpful. Food is plentiful and good. It's a bit of a way to town centre but that didn't affect us.

Accoglienza nn proprio esaltante.....disguidi sulla camera.....poi sistemati nei due giorni successivi! Il personale è stato sempre disponibile ed attento ad ogni richiesta. Cene molto abbondanti sia nelle portate che nella diversificazione. La qualità del cibo molto alta!! il mare o la spiaggia è purtroppo l'unico neo, nn proprio vicina da raggiungere a piedi e molto piccola ed affollata. Per stare meglio bisogna spostarsi su altre spiagge con il mezzo proprio! La piscina è solo una vaschetta da bagno e nn quella che fanno vedere in foto che invece appartiene ad altra struttura ! consiglio di prestare buona attenzione agli extra giornalieri!

Siamo stati una settimana in questo hotel. Come ho voluto già dire di persona al proprietario della struttura, rinnovo anche qui i miei complimenti. A partire dalla gentilezza del personale, i camerieri ai tavoli in primis che sono davvero un fiore all’occhiello ti fanno sentire a casa e sono pronti a soddisfare ogni desiderio. Gentili e disponibili anche entrambe le receptionist. Avevamo la pensione completa ed il cibo era così vario e squisito che non abbiamo mai sentito l’esigenza di cambiare o di provare altri ristoranti in zona, come spesso facciamo quando siamo in vacanza, seppur consigliati. Porzioni abbondanti, piatti sempre vari, cucina davvero top. Comodo il servizio navetta tramite trenino come anche il transfer dalla struttura alla stazione. La camera era confortevole e la struttura accogliente.. mi mancheranno le colazioni vista mare e le coccole del personale. Un applauso a tutti per l’ottimo lavoro che svolgete!! A presto!!

Se ti vuoi sentire meglio che a casa, sia per una vacanza che per un weekend rigenerante è il posto adatto. Ambiente familiare, personale disponibile,tutti pronti ad accoglierti nel migliore dei modi. Cibo ottimo, ricco buffet per colazioni e antipasti e servizio al tavolo per primi e secondi piatti. Pulizia al top. Vicino alla meravigliosa spiaggia di Grotticelle facilmente raggiungibile a piedi in discesa, ritorno più impegnativo in salita ma con disponibilità di navetta. A 5 minuti dalla stazione di Ricadi da cui è possibile spostarsi in treno per raggiungere le spiagge più belle della Costa degli Dei, Tropea e Reggio Calabria. Ci vado 3 volte l'anno, è diventato la mia seconda casa.Consigliatissimo!!! Silvia

Siamo stati ospiti dell'hotel per 10gg. Arrivati all'ora di cena l'impatto con la sala da pranzo è stato deludente. Sembrava una mensa aziendale, rumorosa ...per conversare in un tavolo per 2 bisogna urlare perché le voci rimbombano ,una cacofonia . Piscina in foto sembra olimpionica, in realtà è un gozzo. Camerieri cortesi ,ma poco attenti. Non sembrano professionali a parte Antonio. Colazione buona. Dolci fatti in casa ottimi. Cena (eravamo in mezza pensione) piuttosto limitata. 2 primi più terzo (tipo brodino) 2 secondi (pollo arrosto...le penne del volatile incluse). Ma più che altro sconcertante la campana che suonano alle 20 per annunciare il pasto. E tutti in fila a prendere le verdure sul banco, come all'autogrill, perché il rischio è di non trovare più cibo, se arrivi mezz'ora dopo. Camera essenziale. Pulita. Frigo presente, ma vuoto, neanche 1 bottiglia di acqua all'arrivo. Materasso scomodo. Da un 4 stelle mi aspetterei un materasso memory. Bagno pulito, ma datato. Rubinetti un pò rugginosi e buchi negli infissi. Hotel è decentrato, bisogna prendere la macchina e spostarsi .La sera non esiste alcun intrattenimento. Cibo buono, specialmente i primo di pesce. La spiaggia raggiungibile con una navetta ( sempre strapiena !!) Le 2 navette a disposizione fanno più viaggi ,ma devono servire 6 hotel e i clienti si contengono i posti. Ombrelloni: solo 23 per 2 strutture(Luzia e Marinella) lettini e sdraio molto vicini tra loro, praticamente sei in braccio al vicino di ombrellone. Per 2 giorni ci hanno assegnato gli ombrelloni nr.27 . Quando esistono solo 23!! Meno male che ci siamo accorti in tempo e segnalando...la sig Teodora(l'unica nota positiva nella struttura, paziente e gentile)ha rimediato all'errore . Da valutare positivamente la cena del 14 agosto organizzata nell'Hotel Luzia ( della stessa proprietà) e quella del Ferragosto ( a base di pesce) , notevole!
