Travelodge Ipswich Capel St Mary

Good travelodge. Clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful. Good value and service. Free carpark. Only downside is very closely to A12 ,can hear slight rumble of the traffic. Keep the windows closed and it's not a problem.

Room was clean and tidy, but the furniture’s definitely seen better days. One of the chairs was damaged and could really do with sorting. Bathroom light was flickering the whole time which wasn’t ideal. I didn’t bother reporting it as I was only there for the night, but still, you'd expect that to be picked up. No air con, and the room was roasting. Had to sleep with the window open, which wouldn’t have been too bad if it wasn’t right next to a busy dual carriageway. Constant road noise made it hard to get any proper sleep. They did provide a fan, which helped a bit, but it only goes so far. Also worth knowing – no plugs by the bed for charging phones, and the main light switch is by the front door. The switches by the bed only do the little reading lights, so don’t forget to turn everything off before you climb in. The phrase “you get what you pay for” comes to mind, although at £115 a night, that’s a bit steep for what you actually get.

Easy to find for a stopover. Surprisingly quiet despite being near a main road, and a Starbucks next door for breakfast if required.

Bathroom mouldy and dirty taps. Receptionist disinterested, couldn't wait to get rid of me. For the ridiculous amount you charge per night,it wasn't good. I keep getting emails telling me that I can get a room for £36, I don't know where they are,but that is what you should be charging for a room like this.

This is next to a reasonably busy road so you will experience some roadside noise. The hotel is more or an older style Travelodge, the staff were lovely, there is a Starbucks and petrol station on the same site. The room was clean and warm but only 3 single plug sockets which all had something in them such as tv, kettle and heater so there had to be unplugged for phone charging. Although basic is served it purpose and with a short distance to both Ipswich and Colchester we were able to attend our event safely.

Stinks of **** very run down carpark is like the surface of the moon it's extremely noisy and there is absolutely nothing around the rooms are dirty and in desperate need of demolition gives council flat vibes bed is very uncomfortable and has a strage smell no hot water in the shower
