Cape Diem Lodge

What a beautiful and well run boutique hotel. After a grueling flight from the US, we arrived to find that our reservation had strangely been canceled. But no worries the fabulous manager (Melina from Germany) put us right in our room and settled us in with no hassle. My daughter and I were grateful for that the room was beautiful and had an adjacent courtyard with interesting Succulent plants. Every inch of the boutique hotel was well cared for and curated. A delicious Chenin Blanc and sparkling mineral water are put out every afternoon for the guests. Lounging around the pool was so relaxing and lovely. It’s a quiet place with beautiful nooks and crannies, including a rooftop. Melina gave us excellent advice,how to navigate the city specifically the waterfront and restaurants and shopping. All her recommendations were spot on. It’s a beautiful, quiet place to stay. I highly recommend Cape Diem and look forward to returning someday on my next trip to Cape Town.

The staff at the Cape Diem were the best ever. From the night porter that welcomed us with a welcome drink and helped get us settled, to the day managers Bianca and Melina that were so attentive and made our stay special. They helped with booking drivers to take us to the Cape of Good Hope, explore the wine country to dealing with a troublesome credit card which had expired. They were incredible hosts and we would stay there if staying in Cape Town again. The breakfasts were made to order, tasty and filling, Wonderful, beautiful;, comfortable boutique hotel that met all of our needs. It was also easily walkable to the Victoria and Alford center with great restaurants and attractions. PERFECT in every way. One of our best stays anywhere

Beautiful setting, and fabulous facilities super knowledgeable owner (Bianca) who advised us on trips and stunning restaurants. Perfect location to Cape Town, and amazing facilities. Fabulous staff and beautiful rooms. 15mins walk to the water front and shopping centre.

Lovely hotel which we would call more of a B&B. Host was great. Bedroom and bath were large. Afternoon tea or wine if you preper. Not really within walking distance to the Waterfront but within walking distance to a bunch of stores and restaurants and coffee. The pool area is nice. We felt very safe.

We stayed at Cape Diem during May2024 to celebrate my husband's 60th. I did a lot of research beforehand to select a most beautiful place in Cape Town, and Cape Diem certainly lived up to all expectations. As a guest it is much appreciated when your hotel pays attention to details such as well selected decor, awesome white linen, Mervyn Gers crockery with a hint of Richard art, friendly service, beautiful breakfast. Thank you to all staff and owners - you created a gem in the Mother City.

Stunning decor, very comfortable, very friendly and great location.Short walk to the marina area with all its restaurants and shops. Struggled hard to find any negatives -- best I could find was no marmalade for breakfast! I shall stay here again!

On our arrival, we were initially delighted with our room, which backs onto the pool. The room was large, light and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We did however feel over time the room didn't live up to expectations at night, as the combination of roller blind over a slated blind covered by a net curtain didn't block out the light, as it left gaps, and at times blinds became jumbled and difficult to close. The blind over the door was stuck, so this also did not help. There were other frosted windows in the bedroom and one in the bathroom, which also let in a considerable amount of light early in the morning, which shortened our sleep each night. There was a lovely freestanding bath in our room, however, the hanging light over this was so low it had to be carefully navigated each time we got in and out of it! On the plus side, the hosts were very friendly and welcoming, giving great advice on everything from restaurants, trips and anything else we enquired about. We felt breakfast was nice, though with only three options it felt limited especially if staying for a longer period. Due to the length of our stay we had wanted to do some laundry, which was available as an additional service. The laundry on offer at Cape Diem Lodge was really expensive, a single pair of trousers was around £12 (300 Rand). Instead we went to Coin-Op on nearby Main Road to whom we gave a couple of kilos of laundry which was returned to Cape Diem Lodge within 3-4 hours at a cost of around £9. The location was excellent, with a Woolworths supermarket available at the end of the road with the V&A Waterfront about a 15-minute walk away.

Love this place . A lot of details around. My room was amazing. All I neeed was there . So clean . The workers so nice . Always helpful

We had a fantastic stay at Cape Diem Lodge. Everything was first class including the rooms, breakfast, facilities, pool and staff. Bob was amazing in introducing us as we arrived late at night, and he made sure we were well looked after. Thanks Bob!
