We spent two terrible nights at this hotel as our tour guide recommended it. For 600 cedis you get a poor room, bathroom door that you can not close, hear neighbours in next room and in corridors. Shabby furniture and dirty bath mat, hair in shower drain, shower curtain with mould at the bottom. Internet was slow and only worked at reception, they should invest in boosters around the hotel, for this price internet should be available in rooms. We didn’t sleep either night as neighbouring properties have massive speaker systems set up that were blasting music til ~2-3am. We called reception and they said they couldn’t do anything about it. Our guide said they know this hotel is expensive and they’ve had previous customers complain to them about the rooms and restaurant but the owner of the tour company likes to use this hotel due to the birds that are found on the premises and that the hotel is flexible with providing an early breakfast so tours can leave early. However both mornings we had to wait 15mins for them to serve an omelette with toast and a little sautéed veg. Restaurant and service is very poor. First dinner we ordered the Ghanaian fish stew and rice and plantain. It took an hour for it to arrive and the fish stew was tepid warm, we informed the waiter, he took it away. He came back a minute later with it and just placed the food back without advising what if anything the kitchen had done. We queried and he said they’d heated it in the microwave, as a result we didn’t eat this. Discussing this close to the bar area the manager could hear all this and just ignored the situation, he seems completely uninterested. On the second night we ordered 2x veg pizzas, 45 mins later one arrived. 15 mins after this the 2nd pizza came but this one looked like the dough hadn’t been proved and wasn’t to the same standard as the first pizza. We brought it to the waiter’s attention, he took it back to the kitchen and came back to advise that the kitchen had to mix up a batch of pizza dough so hadn’t had enough time to prove it and if we wanted another pizza we’d have to wait another hour so they could make some more dough. This seems a disorganised and inefficient way to run a kitchen, why don’t they make up a large batch of dough in advance instead of during the dinner service, this partly explains why wait times are so long. Considering this the food is very expensive for the poor quality and lack of care or interest from management who are aware. During our stay we had lunch at the restaurant in Kakum park and it was very good and similarly priced. After two terrible nights sleep and meals we told our guide we wouldn’t stay any more so moved to another hotel (see other review) which was so much better, a new, modern hotel with fast wifi in all areas, dinner good and room rates that costs less than the Hans Cottage. I am very disappointed in the other reviewers here who have given good reviews as there is no way this is possible and under no c
