Locanda Rossa is a step above the usual agroturismo, with refined furnishings, beautiful pool and dining spaces, all off the beaten path in southwestern Tuscany. It’s a special place.

If you’re looking for a quiet , luxurious, and relaxing escape I can’t recommend more highly La Locanda Rossa. A converted farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, 25 mins drive from Capalbio and connected to Rome and Florence by car. The stunning location is surrounded by olive trees and has 2 pools , spa , health club , bar and restaurant. The standard of the locally sourced food is exceptional but what makes La Locanda special is the people. Highly trained, multi lingual, service oriented staff make you feel welcome and all your needs are taken care of. Their in house concierge team can plan your whole stay and make the most of your time in this beautiful location. In conclusion spoil yourself- you won’t regret it !!

We loved our stay here. Beautiful site, very private with great views. Lots of amenities - two great pools, tennis courts, bikes just to name a few. Great location - close to wineries and the coast (had a great day out at Rive Marchesa at Porto Ercole). We travelled with our 3 year old. We should have booked a bigger suite - the Junior Suite was fine and she slept on a sofa bed but not as much space as we had thought. The hotel was very accommodating to families but a downside for us which we told the hotel was that the kids menu did not start until 7.30pm for supper which was too late for our three year old. The kids pool is great - has a little play area with trampoline etc. Hotel probably better suited to travel with slightly older pre-teen children to make the most of the amenities. Do check with the hotel before you book about extra costs for children in your room. Restaurant superb food and good wine list. Expensive but in line with the price of the hotel overall. Good cocktails, lovely bar area. Brilliant breakfast buffet.

Amazing place. From the very start you coming to an amazing reception (probably the best reception I have seen). The interior of the common rooms over the estate is divine! Great breakfast (organic) with loads of choices. Nice outside space. The service mind and positivity of staff excellent. They have been trained very well. Lots of activity on the estate (we enjoyed the tennis court and gym). The dinner was excellent. Great family space! We regret we didn’t stay longer and we almost want to keep this gem for ourselves. We will come back even for a long weekend! As this is one of our best experiences of our lives… Grazi!!!

I loved everything about this hotel - the beautiful understated design, friendly and excellently trained staff, the amenities (tennis court, gym) and food. Well done to the team running it, you do a brilliant job and we’re looking forward to returning in future :)

Beautiful hotel with amazing surroundings. The rooms are amazing & the pool is very relaxing. The breakfast in the morning is superb & the food in the main restaurant is outstanding. Only areas of improvement are that they should offer free bottled water in the rate & also should not charge the people charge if you are staying at the hotel as each time you have a drink / order food it’s €4 per person which adds up! Would consider returning in the future!

We loved Locanda Rossa - the surroundings were beautiful and the room we had was very comfortable. It was all kept spotlessly clean. The staff in the restaurant and bar area were very welcoming and did all they could to help. The reception staff weren’t particularly welcoming though, likewise the staff in the spa, though they were very proficient. We had heard about Barbara and saw her about but she seemed to only spesk to returning guests and as we stayed for a week it would have been nice to be acknowledged. The hotel welcomes guests with dogs which is fine, but not all dog owners were considerate and one didn’t even remove their dogs mess which we encountered by both the adults and childrens pools.

Went for four nights paying more then 709 euros a night tor a garden junior suite, We spent two of them hearing a big dog barking all night in the room next to us, to that add that if you will want pancake or omlete you will need to add 10/15 € and realize it's better to go elsewhere..

This place is amazing when it comes to its setting, the aesthetics, the facilities, and the food quality. What isn’t amazing is their inconsistency at their ability to cater to a food intolerance, especially given the price of the hotel and status of the restaurant. The first night, I informed the waiter about my food intolerance and he arranged for a special dish, which was perfect. The second night, I informed the waitress about my food intolerance and requested the same dish. Instead I got something else. When I enquired if it contained the food I can’t eat she confirmed it did. She was of course sincerely apologetic but did blame me for the miscommunication despite her repeating back to me the ingredients I can’t eat. This ruined that evening and the following two days (essentially the duration of our stay here). When I flagged this at check out, again they were apologetic but blamed me for the miscommunication and offered olive oil (bare in mind at this point I still could barely eat). The actions of the staff following the mistake demonstrate they don’t understand the severity of food intolerances and can’t take accountability for their actions and the consequences of those. A mistake is unintentional, but how it is dealt with after is intentional. The customer service around this issue made me incredibly enraged. Fortunately it was me they messed the food up with, as opposed to my partner who has a severe allergy and instead would be dead. I will say that they catered for his nut allergy well. My conclusion, therefore, is I would be hesitant to recommend this place for anyone with food intolerances.

We visited Locanda Rossa for three days as guests at our friends' wedding. The location, our room, and the public areas of the hotel are beautiful. The food was well prepared and delicious. This was an excellent location for a wedding -- the event planning was outstanding and the staff is second-to-none when it comes to service, friendliness, and professionalism. We would highly recommend this wonderful place to anybody visiting Italy.

We enjoyed three beautiful days at our friend's wedding celebration at Locanda Rose. It is a warm, inviting property. The staff were exceptionally professional, helpful and friendly. The food was great. I highly recommend this property for large and small events.

We had a couple of unplanned days in our Italian vacation and a hotel manager in Lecce suggested Locanda Rossa, as he had grown up in the area. What a treat we found! The accommodations, staff, grounds and food are lovely. The suite was comfortable, large and well maintained on a daily basis. The staff were always helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. There were many activities to do if the weather had been better, but we still enjoyed ourselves with sightseeing and relaxing. We ate four of the five meals at the restaurant and were quite happy with the quality. Desserts were beautiful in presentation, but taste was kind of average. We would have been thrilled to have had more time there, so hopefully we will have the opportunity in the future. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Locanda Rossa is the perfect countryside retreat for some well earned R&R. The staff and facilities are amazing and very knowledgeable. We went at the start of May and it was extremely quiet, only 20-30 guests and this place holds 150 guests. It was such a great way to relax and have a quiet few days in the stunning Tuscan hills. They have two pools (one for adults only) and family pool, both great size and meant that you can have quiet times and fun with kids. Make sure you have a car as this place is in the countryside and I am not sure how else you would get there.
