This is a lovely traditional hotel in a delightfully quiet place. Decor and fittings are of a very high quality and service is exceptional. The standard offer is half board which we were nervous about (we would usually prefer B&B to enable a variety of choice for dinner), however the food in the hotel is excellent and we were very happy indeed to eat there every night. Immediately opposite the hotel is a ferry stop so enabling easy exploration of the lake. However,a word of warning, ferries went on to a winter schedule on 6th October thus limiting the options although the hotel has a private boat and gives an excellent alternative. If we were to go again at this time of year, we would rent a car.

We had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely hotel, positioned by the waters edge and the ferry terminal. All the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast which was excellent and dinner were both served in the dining room overlooking the lake by very attentive friendly waiters. Would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.

The same old world charm and great service as ever. Our third visit. A haven of tranquility overlooking the lake. We had a suite which was charming and superbly decorated. Dinner in the dining room watching people stroll past (and trying to make heads or tails out of the boat timetable!) is relaxing. We love the wine tasting, made special by Giovanni.

A lovely hotel situated on Lake Maggiore. Great breakfasts, and we had dinner here on one evening, and that was also good. Friendly and efficient staff. The rooms with lake view are best. Great location of early evening drinks. We stayed for 5 nights, and highly recommend this place

This hotel is full of return clients because it is so special. The building and it's location are just the start as the staff are delightful, hard working and are always ready to smile. we stayed here as part of a walking holiday and loved coming back to our room overlooking the lake and resting before enjoying a delicious meal each night. Many thaks for a wonderful stay.

Hotel Cannero is movie set pretty by the Lago Maggiore in the pocket size town of Cannero. The hotel’s decor and appointments have all the lovely touches that show the owner is close by monitoring everything. The outside seating areas, adjacent bar spot, endless potted geraniums and picturesque balconies add so much to the old school dolce vita ambiance. Cannero seems mostly a quiet, lovely spot for couples traveling. Up the road, Cannobio seems younger and more active with its camping and RV sites. We enjoyed the top notch breakfast buffet and sunning poolside- which can get a bit tricky during high season as loungers seem to get staked out early despite a sign saying you can’t leave your things unattended for more than a half hour. But the best discovery for us since we like to stay active on vacation were the extensive hiking trails up high behind Cannero that connect it up and down the coast to other villages. We took a hotel sponsored excursion across the lake to Luino for market day. The boat trip was fun but the market was a disappointing repetition of made in China cheap quality goods. The few food stalls were only ok. The handful of crafts vendors who set up Monday nights (during summer beyond that idk) on the lakefront in Cannero had much more charming wares. Dinner was good at the hotel but not as fine as their breakfast spread would suggest it would be.

Breathtaking location- just stunning and a wonderful warm welcome Room was spacious with a lovely balcony over looking the lake. We took advantage of a hotel tour to a couple of Swiss locations which was brilliant Breakfast slightly disappointing Overall a lovely 4 nights

My wife and I recently spent three nights at the Hotel Cannero at Cannero Riviera as part of a tour of gardens of Lakes Como and Maggiore. The position of the hotel on the lake side and our large lake view room, with balcony, could not have been bettered. The family run hotel had a welcoming atmosphere and every member of staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside to our stay was the food. Although the restaurant had an extensive à la carte menu, as half-board guests, we were given a somewhat insulting separate dinner menu that had only one or two choices for each course. This menu was uninteresting and the food was cheap, bland, mass catering which was certainly not expected in a 4* hotel. Having also eaten items from the à la carte menu, the chefs are more than capable of producing good quality, fresh Italian food. It is a pity this did not extend to half-board guests.
