Stayed at this lovely hotel for my birthday,booked a studio room with seaview was well worth it,large rooms and big bathroom cleaned everyday Staff very friendly special shout out to the bar staff restaurant staff work hard but didn't speak much, we stayed bed and breakfast everything tasted ok but all was COLD which let the hotel down wasn't a microwave to warm up either and limited choice this was our only negative at the hotel,they made my birthday extra special with delivering a personalised card and a bottle of fizz and at the night time in the bar the band that was on played and sang Happy Birthday and presented me with cake and candle lovely touch will be back one day to Lovely Madeira.

Nice and clean room. Lovely wiev from the room. Staff was good when arrived 0230 and they took care off us. Breakfast was good. But plenty guest when the hotell is full. So have to wait little to get rhe food. Little minus they not accept American Express. Many pools to swim in. Could be open little earlier than 1000 in Nov.

Fab hotel Breakfast was lovely Great room, large balcony with a sea view 50% off drinks between 5-6pm at the hotel bar Lots of mixed entertainment Some great restaurants and bars close by, all reasonably priced. No fighting for sunbeds at anytime

I visited the Rocamar in January 2024. Overall I would describe the hotel as clean and tidy with a quiet atmosphere. The room I had (201) was very clean and spacious. It was cleaned every day to a good standard. Thank you to the friendly lady who did the cleaning! The door lock on my room was very flimsy (light duty bathroom lock!) which was extremely vulnerable and could have been broken into very easily. My room was also near an external entrance which was concerning. A safe was definitely a requirement here! The public areas of the hotel were clean as was the restaurant and bar area. Staff in the restaurant could have been a little more friendly. I had breakfast each day and whilst the overall standard of food was very good, it was a pity that the hot food was never actually “hot”. This was a pity because apart from this I was quite pleased with the breakfasts. The pool areas were clean and well kept, but there was no provision for refreshments and you had to go back to the room for anything you needed. The hotel is situated in a quiet location with just a couple of shops and cafes locally, so not a great deal of good eating options. There is a bus service not too far from the hotel so you can get into Funchal. If you’re looking for a very quiet location for your holiday, then this place will suit you, but if you’re looking for a livelier and more interesting holiday then Canico is probably not the place for you.

will never go back food was not great but what spoilt for us and our friends was the bar rules for us british and better rules for everyone else and no we are not party animals at aged 65 but we were not allowed to order a drink at bar while watching everyone else do this you can not play a innocent game of cards with children as you may be gambling i tried an experiment and joined some german holiday makers one night for a drink and they were able to order drinks right up to closing time even a drink for me and they could not understand why myself wife and two british friend could only order a drink up to 30 minutes before closing time unless it was in a plastic container and we went to our rooms with said drinks
